I purchased the 60 volt battery for my green works electric mower as a replacement battery to use when the charge was gone from the first battery, thinking I’d get 60+ minutes from the two batteries combined. I get barely 45 minutes from the TWO FULLY CHARGED BATTERIES. For the cost of the batteries I should be getting at least an hour from each battery. At least the mower does it’s job well and was a gift.

Hello Displeased Battery Owner,
We are sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied with the battery life. The run time of a lawnmower is dependent on the load acting against the unit and fluctuates depending on the height setting, the terrain, grass height, type of grass, whether you are mulching etc - there are so many factors to consider. The run-time of a battery would depend on the load acting on the unit while in use (speed, terrain, unit height, grass height, and density). Please be aware that the more power being used from the lawn mower (i.e. lawn mower speed, terrain, grass height, density, etc.), the faster the battery charge will drain. Here are a few tips to help you extend the run time. 1) Set the mower to the highest cutting height (or 1/3 of the length of grass), mow no more than 1/3 of the total length at a time. 2) Mow in the morning or late afternoon to reduce the heat stress on newly cut grass and ensure that grass is dry. 3) Only use the self-propelled feature when needed. Lastly, when the battery is placed in the charger the charger detects the temperature of the battery and will begin charging once it cools down slightly to charge. This is normal operation based on the protection system in the charger. All is operating as intended. We hope these tips will help you with the issue you have encountered, however, if they do not please kindly contact us at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) or by email on info@greenworkstools.com. We would be happy to look into this for you.
The 60ah battery from Greenworks has excellent power and lasts a long time. I have been able to get full power from the start right up until the battery dies. The battery is light and charges quickly so you never have too much downtime. You can monitor the remaining power of your battery by pressing a button on the side of the battery and viewing an easy to read meter.
I can weedwack and blow my entire 1/3 acre property on this battery, I've never ran out of charge doing this. Battery indicator is a nice feature. No issue thus far.
These are rated for 2 hours of use, and from day one, I don't get more than 30 minutes, max. I have to rotate with other batteries to work on my yard (I have 4, for use with electric mower and electric string trimmer.) If a better product comes out, I would switch.

Hello Ohana71,
Thank you for your feedback. It is unfortunate to hear that the run time is unsatisfactory. Please allow us to clarify some information. The runtime of a 2.0Ah battery would provide (approximately 30 mins) depending on the load the load acting against the unit - there are so many factors to consider. For further details, please consider contacting GreenWorks we would be happy to go over the various run times.
I use this battery in my 60v string trimmer. I have 3 acres of land to care for and a fair amount of weed whacking to do. This battery handles it all. I can only remember one time when I had to break and recharge. And that was because I was doing some heavy brush around the property edge on high power. I highly recommend this product!
I generally use this battery on a weed eater. Much light than the 4ah and 5 ah ones. Has plenty of power and lasts about 45 minutes on the high setting
