This is a very handy little inverter for those times when the power goes out. I always have a couple of batteries handy so I can keep at least a light on for hours. Not sure exactly how long it will last yet because I haven't had to use it.

This device is great for power-outages (which we get all the time), and also for emergency work at customers' sites.
I can run a compact AMD-based server (redundant 500W power supply) for about an hour on the 5Ah battery (of which I have several), which makes it a great intermediate to keep an emergency server up for customers who are experiencing outages, or to support datacenter migration.
Only nit - I wish there were a version with two of everything (e.g., have two grounded outlets, and double battery bays, for 10Ah max). It would still weigh less and be more compact than the competitive equivalents and would give me up to two hours of runtime.

Inverter: Limited utility

The inverter will serve the purpose/convenieince of charging devices and powering a simple table fan at our farmer's market booth. Perhaps this will supply a bit more power than would be necessary for a simple fan & charging devices while at a remote location yet this inverter would be not much use re: power outage of home as it only supplies 300 watts and will not power a small appliance such as an electric tea kettle or fry pan, (which would be useful during a power outage) and much higher wattage demands.

1) This product outputs a modified sine wave (filtered). In a pure sine wave inverter, the polarity switches smoothly, with gentle curves. With a modified sine wave the polarity change is abrupt. This type of waveform is suitable for most AC loads, including linear and switching power supplies used in electronic equipment, transformers, and motors but there are some exceptions.
2) This is only a 300W inverter. To calculate what your equipment requires, have a look at the manual, plug, or tag. There should be the volt and amp rating. Multiply these figures to determine the number of Watts the product requires before attempting to use it with an inverter.
