This One is Just Right!

I've tried about four other rugged phones over the past six months. They were all okay. Then I came across a familiar friend: Nokia! I was so happy to find this rugged phone. Nokia balances ruggedness and functionality perfectly. If you get this phone, you won't be disappointed.
*IF* you twisted my arm and asked how they could make it even better, I'd recommend:
1) a little bigger battery...say 5000mah.
2) a notification LED on front display
3) a fingerprint censor on back instead of side
4) maybe an IR night vision camera
These are just my preferences, but nevertheless I give the Nokia XR20 5-stars as is. This is a keeper. Nice job Nokia (HMD).
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Nokia XR20 cell phone and it has all these amazing qualities 128 gb of storage, 6 gb of ram and Its has a 5g net work speed on it and it comes with a three year update to android. This has excellent graphic's on it plus a good Cpu in it which is amazing on its own. A great size phone plus the screen quality is awesome and its also comes with dual sims. It also can be dropped and not break plus it can get wet and no damaged to the phone how amazing is that to be able to get wet and no damage to my cell phone . This Nokia XR20 is amazing and I love it !

Cons:
-Somehow puts itself in shutdown mode when In my pocket and gives a reboot screen which says to try again, or factory reset (try again always works, but scary to think if I press the wrong button everything will be wiped).
-Blur/darkness around the selfie camera hole.
-speak on bottom gets blocked easily
- Google assistant button not reprogrammable
- camera quality is not what I'd expect in this price range
Pros:
-Sturdy build quality
- loud speaker
- waterproof and screen sensitivity works decent when wet
-programmable top button is nice
-finger scanner is fast and reliable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I opened the box and took out the phone I noticed it was packaged well. When I held the phone in my hand it felt solid and has like a case built into it. The backing was very comfortable with grip that helps prevent slipping out of hands. This phone is an android and have some nice feature and plenty of memory for that I need it for. The color and quality of the main screen is remarkable. The charger works well and fast to charge. I love my Nokia!

Decent phone with decent features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nokia XR20 is a mid-range phone that has plenty of great features like an extra customizable button, double lenses with double flashes, and a several year Nokia commitment to Android upgrades.
The specs and features read great on paper, but the performance and execution upon use prove to be somewhat lacking. The camera's sensor isn't particularly great, although it isn't bad. Photos come out looking fine, but the best part is the amount of settings for the camera. There are many different modes, from portrait to slo-mo to timelapse, as well as a cool one I have never seen before called Dual-Sight. The wide-angle lens is a nice touch.
I have had and continue to have issues with my phone syncing properly with Gmail. Despite changing all the right settings it still continues to not notify me whenever I receive an email which has gotten me into trouble a few times and there is no apparent fix.
If you are into the whole Google Assistant thing, then there is a dedicated button on the left side of the handset for calling it up. Luckily for those of us who don't use Assistant, it is possible to disable this button if you dig far enough in the settings.
The power/lock button is far too squishy and difficult to find using just your finger, while the volume rocker is solid and raised. There is almost no bezel, so that's really nice.
My biggest complaint is the size. I think the term 'phablet' used to have a set definition, but these days I think most mid-range or flagship devices fit the dimensions of what used to be called 'phablet', and the XR20 is definitely within those dimensions. It is HUGE, and heavy. Which, if you are someone who likes to watch a ton of content or play games on the phone, then this might be a plus. As a drone pilot, it was actually nice to have such a large display to view my drone's camera through the phone controller.
Battery life is okay. It definitely lasts a day but not more. Battery Saver doesn't help very much either. I guess these days if you get a full day of use then most would be happy.
Speakers are absolutely atrocious. I actually don't recall ever hearing a phone sound worse than the external speakers on this device. Use headphones always. And along with that, a very strange complaint: the headset volume when talking on the phone is way too loud. At the lowest volume setting I have to hold the phone 2 or 3 inches away from my ear. Why would they do this?
Many of those points are negatives, but everything else rounds out to be decent. The touch screen is snappy, the display looks good, its bright enough; and it checks my deal-breaker boxes: SD Card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. So I suppose it does the job.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Full screen experience with tiny nice hole camera. Has 5G support with fast data transfer. Rugged smartphone with raised lip on the front screen and back camera which makes it extra tough. It also has programmable emergency button. It is Android one phone with 3 years of android upgrade and 4 years of security upgrade promised. No bloatware apps 17 GB used out of 128 GB with system and google apps which makes for 111GB Free space to use for your apps and photos. Two rear cameras -- a 48MP f/1.79 wide-angle camera and a 13MP f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle (123˚) camera. Large 4,630mAh battery. Also supports wireless charging. Definitely recommend!

Bad buttons

Overall a decent attempt at a rugged phone, however the soft buttons and some other issues ultimately forced me to return it. The button issue is that the power and google assistant buttons are too easy to press, so you're constantly opening the assistant or camera in your pocket.
