Great except for the Google Assistant button

I bought this a couple of months ago because it was a reasonably priced, affordable, sturdy and salt-resistant phone with wireless charging. I like it. It makes calls well, holds its battery well enough, and is easy to hold once I attached a lanyard. The biggest distraction is that the Google Assistant button on the left is constantly getting tapped and, even though I have disabled the assistant there is still an extra tap almost every time I pull the phone out of my pocket. If I used the assistant or liked to use voice commands this would be a bonus, but for me it is a bother. Similarly, it tends to turn itself on in my pocket and dial emergency calls to random streams of numbers. In normal use it is a very solid, slightly large, phone and I very much like not having to worry as much about dropping it at the beach.

Robust and well-constructed, reliable and everything one expects from a Nokia. The performance is significantly under-par for a flagship device, the power button/fingerprint scanner can feel a bit mushy and insensitive, and due to the heavy-duty metal construction it tends to run hot in the hand, particularly if charging. I am particularly enthused about the availability of physical multi-SIM capability, as many manufacturers seem to be abandoning it in favor of E-Mails. Ultimately, for the price point, it's a marvel, but if flagship performance is your sticking point look elsewhere.

I bought it about a year ago. Chose this because of the not cluttered os and heavy duty structure, hoping it will survive if dropped. So far so good. Not very happy with the camera, videos get strange glitches etc .

A Very Good Smartphone with Excellent Battery Life

Battery life is excellent. I purchased Nokia because of my history with their phones. The radio quality (send/receive) is top-notch as always. Camera is nice too. On the downside, I keep hitting the Google assistant button when not intending to. Also, this implementation of Android is taking a little bit of time to get used to. The only irritating thing about this phone is that on group texts sent to me, when I reply it breaks the groups up so that each of the people on the group get an individual text. Then when one of the group members responds to me, they're not responding to the entire group. I've seen that this is a known issue, but as of the date of this review it has not been resolved.

I was a little worried before buying this phone as I had liked my Nokia Purview 9, and I didn't think the specifications looked as good for the XR20 versus the Pureview 9. The reason I traded was that the old Pureview 9 wasn't keeping a battery charge anymore, and unless the battery was completely charged, I could not take a photo. What I've found is that the XR20 meets my needs better than the Pureview 9. The case is more robust and feels stronger, the screen is fine and bright, the battery keeps its charge, the memory is larger, I can still use my Qi charger pads. Overall, I am very happy with my Nokia XR20 and I am glad I made the switch.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had many phones since my last Nokia. It's truly a joy to have one again. It's an amazing phone to hold and use. The phone has a built in case on it and feels very sturdy. The screen has a beautiful quality to it as does the camera. The Android interface is intuitive and easy to use. The battery is better than expected and lasts a food long time under steady use. It's nice to be home with Nokia again.

Enjoying this phone so far, it's been holding up well and it has ample power. The camera works quite well for my needs too. My one complaint is the google assistant button. I do not use google assistant and I have it turned off, so this button is essentially wasted space. Whenever I accidentally press it the assistant pop-up still appears, and just prompts me to reactivate google assistant. Allowing the user to make custom keybinds for this button, as with the red button, would be much more useful for future models. If this feature could be integrated into a future software update for this phone, that would be even better.
