People should be warned about smoking/cooking a turkey in a tall sided aluminum turkey pan. I used one just like I would do when cooking in a conventional oven and my turkey had received little, if any, smoke flavoring. The smoking did not reach the turkey. It appears the smoke was unable to reach the turkey. It merely exited my Traeger. Said another way, it could not get to the bird. Otherwise I was happy with the Brine and Rub Kit.

Hi, and thanks for reviewing the Turkey Rub and Brine Kit. When going by the instructions that come with the kit, you are not really supposed to use a pan for cooking the turkey. Once the bird has been in the brine solution for 24 hours, you'll blot it dry, coat the surface with butter and apply the rub. From there the turkey will go straight onto the grates, without any pan, where it will be both cooked and thoroughly smoked, until it is done. And even though some meats may require a pan, and even to be covered with butcher paper or aluminum foil, this would only be for part of the cook, with the remainder being right on the grates so that the smoke can permeate the surface and infuse its flavor.

The pellet bag looked like it had been torn before it was packed. Most of the pellets had dumped into the box. I don't know how the brine is, because this review came before Thanks Giving. You had to know I bought this for Thanks Giving. Give someone a chance to use your product before asking for a review.

The first time I ever cooked a holiday turkey was on my new Traeger. I'd never used a smoker until a couple months before. I bought the kit. Followed every step. Once completed my wife declared that she had been cooking the bird for 25 years, and this was the BEST she ad ever had. Use this kit every year.
