Fun Build, Poor Price

I think this set is a must get for anyone who was even remotely interested in the Ducati. However, the price point is outrageous. Maybe wait a few years to buy it used?

Poor QC Lego - Horrible Build
on December 23, 2022

Disappointing model. Every section of the build is missing a piece. Continued the build and will throw it in the dumpster in a week or two. Wife now knows not to purchase expensive Lego model kits. Not worth it. Pathetic.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice sticker kit!

Great set of stickers. Probably one of the biggest sets of stickers I’ve seen. Two densely arranged sheets, with many of the stickers in related groups with specific orientations. Lego did a good job matching the M color scheme.
As a fun bonus, Lego threw in some pretty cool plastic bits so you could have something to stick the stickers to. This was a nice touch, and I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that, with these plastic pieces, the 79 (as in seventy-nine) stickers very nearly approximate the shape of a BMW M 1000 RR.
For replay value, there are three stickers for reproducing different states of the motorcycle’s digital instrument cluster. One representing the initial startup screen perhaps, then two different styles of gauges that the rider could cycle through. I like to begin with the startup M sticker, then use the conventional dial sticker, then I pretend I’m reconfiguring my dash, and I move on to the 80s style bar chart tachometer. You can just put the stickers on your fingertip and hold them near the front windscreen stickers to achieve this effect, or, as noted above, you have the option of putting the stickers on three included pieces of plastic. Up to you.

Pretty awesome

I mean, I got the Ducati Panigale V4 R, why wouldn't I get this one?
This was an amazing build, but oh boy did it take the whole day with me going on and off of it.
What a difference it is from the 650 pieces of the Ducati; complex, big, well designed. Did I mention it was big?
Its sitting beautifully on my shelf down stairs and, mwah, beautiful

I have built nearly every Star Wars UCS set and 10+ large Technic and Creator sets, I have never written a review before so it says a lot that this is my first…. This an amazing set, turned out larger than I had imagined but it is a spectacular design and beautiful show piece, difficult but fun build…primarily for older kids and adults, definitely technical and took more time than similarly sized sets… but the end product was well worth it. So the bar has been set high for future technic builds, I’m hopeful the Mclaren F1 set is just as impressive!

Extremely Pleased

As a Mechanical Engineer, I could appreciate how well the entire BMW was designed. I was excited to get started assembling my BMW and as I was putting the Lego pieces together, my excitement increased. Being my first Technic assembly, I did not know what to expect but, was pleased that I had made the right choice. I simply had fun watching how the individual gears worked with one another along with the piston movement in the engine and how the two were engaged by the 162 piece chain links. I am so pleased that I plan to disassemble the entire bike (leaving the decals as is) and reassemble again. I was not disappointed and felt the cost was far outweighed by my enthusiasm.
