fun to build, but would have loved for it to have more technic features. The lover radiator on the front is a bit flimsy and falls off a lot when i am carrying it.

impressive attention to detail

this was my first technic set in a while and i'm impressed. First off this thing is big - wheels are a little bit larger than the palm of my hand for reference so it takes up a sizable amount of space. Make sure you have somewhere to display it. Build was overall fun with some tricky parts here & there but manageable with the right patience. As mentioned by FitKangaroo035, be careful when building the gearbox and make sure it is fully operational before continuing. Also triple check your chain pieces, the set uses 62 but my bag had 65 so I was paranoid that I had it wrong.
the stickers or decals were a little tedious and it would've been nice to have printed pieces for such a nice model. Can't speak to their longevity but hoping for the best. I'm sure it would still look cool albeit more modest without them.
you may notice that there are no side mirrors - I believe this was done intentionally by Lego to maintain the sporty "racing" look of the bike. Other than that the gearbox is cool and fun to play around with, rear brake pedal is squishy, suspension is functional, and there are various options for the dashboard. Very happy with this build and what a cool collaboration. Yeah, price may be a lot but worth it if you have a niche for motorcycles and Lego.

I absolutely love this kit. Not sure how Lego will step up their game after this one (working mechanical brakes?). Just be warned that there are A LOT of stickers.

Almost better than the real thing

I have the 1:1 scale model in my garage. Well almost, I have the S 1000 RR, sadly not the M, but close enough. This was the most fun Lego build I’ve ever done. The transmission is a work of art. Don’t rush, it’s complex. Honestly a real sequential transmission is less complex. After this build it if I didn’t already have the real thing I’d be headed out shopping.

You get what you pay for

Lego did it again. This BMW set is a blast. It took me six hours to complete sections 1 to 3. Most detailed, and most challenging set compared with the three Supercar sets. The engineer who designed this beauty deserves an award. This is some building experience for the big boys (and girls off course). Abstract imagination capabilities help at some point to understand how and where parts need to be inserted. The quality of materials is top notch, LEGO stands for world class products. As a 60+ Year old builder I appreciate my inner patience so when things got too detailed keeping a clear mind helped tremendously. It brought me to some kind of meditative mood frickeling all these smaller pieces together. As a true motorbike enthusiast, it’s hard to imagine that there is any two wheel addicted guy out there who is not fascinated by this building set. And it helps to squeeze each of these plastic bags so that not even the smallest part remains unnoticed. The manual is very precise and I followed it meticulously step by step. Zero frustration, even when placing the decals. Most highly recommended to anyone who loves engineering in a kind of playful manner.

One Baaaad Motorcycle

First off, I lnow virtually nothing about motorcycles, but after seeing this model advertised earlier user this year, knew I had to build it. I’m almost finished with the bike,( got stalled because of a couple of missing pieces), but the intricacy and detail are mind boggling. It’s critical to take your time in the build, because it’s almost impossible to take pieces apart after they have been assembled due to the nature of the Technics system. My one complaint is that the “3 speed working gearbox” is something of a mystery to me. The toe shifter does move up and down and clicks from one gear to the next, but I’m not sure if there is more to it than this or not. The whole gearbox mechanism is incredible - especially the working pistons in the engine - it’s a shame that they get covered so quickly by the radiator and other pieces of the build. The size, branding and detail in this model makes it a sure winner. Would definitely recommend this to experienced builders who are up for a challenge.

Biggest lego bike ever!

This set is amazing! The gearbox works flawlessly. The suspension, the engine, transmission all work perfectly. It looks awesome. The building experience was very challenging, but that's why it was great. The only downside to this set are the amount of stickers. It would've been nice to have some printed pieces, but other than that everything else is fantastic. I love this set
