Among the Best Lego Sets Ever Produced!
on January 18, 2022

This is a fantastic set and the best one I’ve seen in a long time from the Lego group. Only maybe the UCS Falcon rivals it in my opinion in terms of building experience and features. This things has so much going on and is well worth the money (ignore piece count!). Mine was missing a piece but I’m sure Lego will happily remedy that. Don’t pass up on this one!

Too Fragile
on February 6, 2022

This was the set I was the most excited to build. The AT-AT is my favourite Star Wars vehicle and I was absolutely stoked to get one in UCS form. The pros: Aesthetically, this model looks fantastic. The accuracy of the model to the actual AT-AT is on point. The box-opening experience was also top-notch. The cons: This model is incredibly, incredibly fragile! A light touch can cause panels or pieces to come off, which made the build a frustrating experience. I can't pick mine up to move it without the underside panel falling off. It's attached by a few studs and it's frankly too heavy for it to stay on properly. The underside panel itself is also very flimsy. For example, the hatch (although a great detail!) is attached with 2 studs on one side and it falls off constantly when I try to reattach the panel to the main body. Additionally, I had the same issue with missing pieces as other reviewers. The problem was resolved by Lego fairly quickly, but it still delayed my build by over a week. This is the first Lego set I have purchased that has had missing pieces. I have very mixed feelings about this set and I want to love it more than I do. But when it's falling to pieces in my hands, it's hard to rave about it.

Great Build, Beware Household Pets Though

I loved this build and all of the detail that went into it including the interior. I wasn't missing any pieces. The only issue I had was I finished building it at night before going to bed and the next morning I discovered my four cats had decided to reenact the Hoth scene with themselves as the snowspeeders! I walked into the living room and it was in pieces all over the floor. I have now rebuilt it a second time and as this model is very top-heavy and limited on side-to-side stability I have decided to display it on a surface near a wall and am going to work out an anchor point to tether it to the wall. I also have the UCS Devastator and the UCS Millennium Falcon and this one and the Falcon will definitely be play/display with my son and me since they are built to scale for minifigures and have lots of interior detal.

UCS ATAT
on December 5, 2021

I've dreamt of this set for 17 years of my 24 years of life. Playing the og Lego star wars 2 on gcn back in the day, I imagined building my own atat with full interior. I researched for hours, modeled it in stud.io, and analyzed the cross sections books.
Lego has satisfied all of my childhood fantasies with this set. You can load your troops with seats for all and ladders and equipment storage combined with open staging areas. This set literally looks like the designers took the cross section book and made it a set.
I haven't even mentioned that you get 3 free sets if you get it at holiday time (in usa at least, I heard the Aussies get that too)
I would have passed out if they had a passage through the neck and had cables to deploy the troops.

NOT Just a Display Set
on December 7, 2021

This has got to be the most impressive UCS sets inside and out. Having a full interior for a set like this is quite rare and the finished product is amazing. This set also comes with great mini figures, and lots of them. This is definitely my new favorite LEGO set of all time.

Great set to display...
on January 12, 2022

This was by far the most frustrating set to build. Too many pieces are poorly secured and easily fall off or become loose during the build. This was especially problematic when needing to apply pressure to lock technic pieces in place. Almost everywhere you push to lock the pieces in will cause others to become loose or fall off. Due to how fragile the set is, it is not conducive to playing with. It looks great as a static display once you get through the frustrating build.

Solid 4 1/2 stars, here's why...

Overall a great set. I see some negative reviews that I understand the frustration, but you have to know what you're getting into with this set. It is not a toy to be played with. It's a display piece. I had no trouble with it standing up and adjusting the legs. Really my only complaint is the armor on the boy. It just kind of sits there with some pegs, and it's very fragile, touching it almost seems like certain doom. My adult son came over right after I finished it. I stepped out of the room for a minute, came back and all the body armor had fallen off from bothe side. "I swear I just touched it dad." Well, he tried to open the side door, and the armor fell off. Is what is is, I was able to put it back together reasonably quick. My only other gripe is the head. It seems the side panels (which are also loosely held on) don't quite close enough, leaving a gap between the top plate and the side plates. Again, not a huge deal. Just me nit-picking. As far as the build goes, it was fun watching it come together. The feet and legs were at time tedious, but I set it up so I was building the 4 feet at the same time like a production line sort of. I'm not an experienced Technic builder at all so this was by far the most experience I've had with technic bricks. If I never see a blue snap-in coupling again I'll be a happy man. I swear 6000 of the 6785 pieces in this thing are those little blue things LOL. But, it all made for very sturdy legs and frame. Wish it came with more snow troopers but that's life. Also, my wife bought this for me, opening her own account not realizing that there are 5200 VIP points that come with this. I've emailed Lego to see about transferring them to my account, so fingers crossed. Great set, Lego continues to impress.
