Terrible Quality

What a rip off! This set looks cute at first glance but the quality of the pieces is beyond awful. The plates are extremely fragile making the set extremely difficult to construct, and the set did not stay together easily. This is something I’d expect from a knock off brand, not lego.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Camper was Great

I bought this as a gift for my Father. He had a great time putting it together and worked at it like a madman according to my mom. When it was time to put the roof on, he called and said he couldn’t get it to work. Uh oh. So I stopped by his place to look at it and tried to finish assembly myself. Whoops! I forced it to hard and a bunch of pieces broke off. Wow, this thing is pretty flimsy I thought.
I took it home to reassemble the damage I’d done and try to figure what was going on with the roof. I soon noticed a couple of things he’d done incorrectly and also, he didn’t always get strong bonds between parts.

I got all the parts back together and rebuilt the roof. This time it went on like a dream and the whole car was significantly stronger and more structurally sound. Ending result was great, the roof works properly the various features are super clever and fun and we’ve got a completed and impressive product. Great job Lego.

This set is solid

This is the first time I have written a review and I am doing so because of all of the reviews saying the set is flimsy. I'm not trying to put anyone down but for me this is one of the best designed sets I have ever built and I just finished the UCS Millennium Falcon. I have also built the BMW m1000 RR, the Liebherr 4 9800, and the Star Wars Sandcrawler (75059). In my opinion this set seems to just fall in place, I have had zero issues so far (halfway through bag 9). All of the doors open and close without issue and I have not had to rebuild anything. A lot of people say the roof is troublesome and maybe I'll change my mind on bags 10 and 11 but so far I find this set amazingly designed. I really don't understand why people are having build issues or can't seem to keep their doors together. I have had the exact opposite experience.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Entertaining

First and foremost, this reminds me so much of my childhood and being together as a family. I absolutely love the nostalgic look and touches the creator put into this set. If you are on the fence about buying because of all the negative reviews, please reconsider and do yourself a favor and purchase it before it's gone. I will admit that you have to be careful where you apply pressure when attaching certain pieces but with all Lego sets, exercise caution before pushing too hard. Secondly, in reference to the rooftop not fitting correctly, follow the directions closely on that page and everything does come together nicely. I think one of the pieces location is misleading and could tempt you to put the piece one place off. :) Nevertheless, great build and set when all said and done.

Sadly Disappointed

I’m very disappointed. For how much it costs it was not built very well. The way they have it built it’s just not good. It’s not sturdy at all, the sliding door does not work right and I have rebuilt it over 5 different times trying to get it to work but it never does properly. The roof is just not well made. It’s very weird and clunky. Not a fan.

Cute but…

I bought this set because it’s adorable and it’s my favorite color!
Everything was fine for a while I would say until I got to building the underside of the topper where it pops up. It’s quite complicated. I thought I had it done and realized something somewhere was wrong and I spent a lot of time trying to adjust and go back and figure out what was wrong before ultimately I just had to disassemble the whole underside of the topper and I still have not finished it. I will come back to it another day, but it still looks cute displayed as is.
Another thing is anytime I opened the back or the side doors something fell off, every time. Also when I picked it up something just randomly fell off the bottom and I still have no idea where it’s supposed to go. It is very finicky. This will definitely be a set I just have sitting on display and never open it or touch it.
One more minor thing I didn’t like is I don’t really like the curtains all the last much it that is something I could of just left out, however at this point I’m tired of it falling apart so I will just leave them.

Bumper problem

I see many, many reviews regarding the poor support for certain sections, the bumpers being the biggest problem. The sheer weight of the van makes turning it over back and forth for construction a problem. It looks great on display, not for play. That said it is beautiful and a sweet memory for those of us who had the real thing

Missing a few pieces

Overall I loved the T2 camper! I loved all the moveable parts also. I thought I was pretty cool that you can open the door and other parts. But what I didn't like is the top part of the camper wouldn't fully shut and few pieces were missing from 2 of the packets. So I just had to find pieces that was similar and i'm glad I figured it out. Overall it is a very cool lego kit. Multiple people liked it!
