Don’t waste your money

I’ve purchased so many builds and this is so disappointing. If you look at this thing the wrong way something will break and you will need to rebuild. I often set this aside for days at a time because it was so frustrating. I would not recommend this for how expensive it is.

The set falls under harsh criticism for the difficulty of the build, its simplicity, and its price. However, an objective lens casts doubt upon these reviews. The set has an age rating of 18+ and falls under the creator expert line, and is not a difficult set to build save for the few uses of technic elements, including the roof and steering system. The price is less than what it could have been, even maintaining a 10 cents/piece ratio. If a set is marketed for adults and has a fair price, then complaints of the build being too complicated or too expensive fall apart. If you can’t handle paying for and building a set, don’t buy it in the first place.

So Disappointed

I absolutely love LEGO and was super excited to get this. My brother has a van just like this and I thought I would build it and give it to him for Christmas (he is not a builder). This was SO hard. I had to rebuild the roof twice as it would not open and close easily. I finally got it, but I was ready to throw it out the window. As I would recommend most sets I have built, this would not be included in that group. :(

What a fantastic build

Let me just say wow don't read the reviews from this product they will steer you wrong , the people complaining about how tough it was to build and not staying together just don't know how to build Legos . This product was engineered fantasticly , as a lover of the first gen vw bus this was just as fun and such a better quality build. Would totally recommend this to any avid Lego adult.

Awesome Set

I really enjoy the set, especially all the play abilities and small details it has. The only complaint I have is through some parts of the build some parts were really weak. So when I would try to fix it, it would shatter to bits. But besides that, its an awesome set!

Front of bus trouble

When you get to bag 9, things do not go well. The front of the bus keeps falling off. There’s definitely a design flaw here. You have no way to push the block assembly together and not have a complete collapse of the front cab. There should be loner support blocks connecting the front cab to the rest of the bus. The front section is only held on by blocks that do not alternate with the frame. Any medium pressure causes it to collapse. It’s very frustrating.

Fun build - not very playful

My 8 year old daughter built this mostly on her own. Like others she struggled with the pop up roof and needed a little help figuring it out. In our case, some of the pieces weren’t secure enough, and we also needed to compress the spring piece more. It works fine now. She loved building the kitchen and decorating with the stickers at the end. It’s a cute finished product, but I don’t really know how much you can play with this set.

Awesome VW T2 Camper Van

I have several Lego vehicles including the VW car, original VW Camper Van and now the T2 Camper Van. Perfect Van. Easy instructions. Looks great. Very happy with Lego as usual. I hope Lego comes out with the new VW Van coming out in 2024.
