Offers a good challenge!

My son, age 15, loves building LEGOs but it isn’t easy to find one that offers a challenge. This VW camper was perfect.

Beautiful Camper Van

Tough build but worth the effort, definitely fragile, not something you'd want to pick up or play with as the pieces just fall off at will.

Looks Are Deceiving

I ordered this set because I love classic cars and LEGO and have both the Ford Mustang and Porsche 911 sets (both of which I thoroughly enjoyed building). For the most part, I enjoyed the building process. The interior details were great. I loved the kitchen details and accessories as well as the opening engine flap. I was greatly impressed with the level of detail and accuracy which which the LEGO designer(s) recreated the famous Boxer engine. But, when I got to the construction of the front of the chassis, there were problems. The front fell apart on multiple occasions, and when I put the front windscreen on, the front buckled completely and fell apart completely. After I had tried quite a few times, I finally completed the front but when I built the pop-up camper top, It had problems also. First of all I had trouble putting it into place without completely smashing the tailgate. Second of all, I could not get the pop-up function to work. I also rebuilt some of the vehicle but, I am definitely returning this set. Some pieces were missing also. This is the first time in my building career that I have been dissatisfied with a LEGO product. I would not recommend this set to any of my friends.

Lots of detail worth the money. I recommend this due to the many details and authentic features it has like the door the cabinets back-boots rooftop and a sliding door

Fantastic

So.. I initially hesitate to buy this one because of the negative reviews. I have assembled dozens of vehicles from Lego over the years and this one was a joy. I am genuinely stumped at the negative reviews. My wife and I assembled this.. when we were finished I was just at a loss when it came to the complaints about flimsy build and parts falling off etc. I found no issues whatsoever with this build. Its not perfect.. but its right on par with a normal lego experience. Its fun and the finished product is fantastic!

Not Nearly as Bad as Early Reviews

I thoroughly enjoyed this build. There are a few steps that require patience and a bit of dexterity. But overall things went together very nicely. I have not had any of the problems earlier people stated. The top fits down nicely as long as the "canvas" is folded correctly. No problem with pieces coming off at all.

What a fun build putting this together was exciting challenging even had to go back and even change some pieces I loved the detail the intricacy and all of the fun parts of the moving mechanisms inside the vehicle overall it's a pleasure to show off to friends and I can't wait to build another one

Badly put together

There are multiple steps in this set that when out together, fall apart every time you touch it due to there being no anchor points to help keep prices in place. There are also numerous pieces that don’t even click into anything, therefor easily falling out every time the set is moved. It is a good concept and looks neat but building it was very annoying
