Fun to build

Entertaining to put together and add it to my collection with the other Volkswagen products you have made available this goes along with the red Volkswagen bus and the blue Volkswagen bug.

Good Looking, But Very Fragile

I love the VW kits so I didn’t hesitate to purchase this one immediately upon release. The final build looks great, minus the roof that won’t seat flat near the front. I would’ve rated this 5 stars if not for the fragility of the front end and rear door. Both of those sections have design flaws that cause them to fall apart with barely a touch during the build. I think I had to rebuild the front end 4 times. There is zero chance this could be played with, but it makes a great looking display piece.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fun product, great details. My only complaint is the advertising indicates it is a 60s style VW camper. Up until about 1974 the camper top hinged from the front and opened the opposite way as this model so I think it should be advertised as 70s camper van.

Flimsy build for a Creator set

Fit and finish is not up to Lego standards. Even after the build I hesitate to open or close any doors or the roof. I have had pieces come off and spent time just trying to get them to stay on. What good are moving parts if they can’t be moved or opened without fear of the build falling apart. This includes the back hatch, the sliding door and even a non-moving part: the front bumper. Not worth the cost or the time. Select a different model.

Great set! No issues that weren't builder error!

This set was so much fun to build. It was very challenging, which I enjoyed very much. You need to be very meticulous with this set. I did not have any of the issues others are describing - the front end is not flimsy and my roof sits flush. The only time i ran into issues were results of my own building mistakes. I would definitely recommend - overall a great build!

First Lego build

I wanted the ghostbusters echo-1 to be my first build. I came across the Volkswagen and something about it carried the same feel. I was still disappointed that I couldn’t get what I wanted, but as I started building my set and saw my creation come alive, it was priceless.

Handle with Care

The set is nice but parts (the pop-up tent frame) seem to be over engineered while the basic part of the van seems to be poorly thought out. The front bumper is extremely fragile and will come off with the slightest touch. The front and back are also more fragile than needed and if I was actually "playing" with the set and not just displaying it with my other creator vehicles I would be very frustrated
