As a fan of VW, this set is great. I already owns the T1 Camper, this one is a great addition. It does have 873 more parts, and weights 789 more grams (1840g total, without the two chairs, no surf).
The building technics were great. I did not see such technics in the other sets I build.

For the pros, I definitely like the look, the sliding door is amazing, and the level of details inside the van is great.
For the cons, the door for the engine is really difficult to open. If you don't want to lose the knob, rather have to put some glue.
Hinges for the cabin doors are not great, but it does the job. To consider the room and how to integrate them too. I think the designer did a great job.
If you compare the look of the T1 and the T2, you can see the building technics (and availability of new parts) improvement between the two generation of sets.

A great addition to this set would have been a roof rack. Sadly it's missing.
Reading all the reviews, I think we have to keep in mind this set is part of the Creator Expert. Meaning it's not intended for children, but more advanced people, like adults. During the build, I had no issue of elements not staying in position. It is a sturdy build, beside the engine door and the front bumper (which falls down easily depending how you handle the van).
Conclusion:
This is an Expert level. This is not for kids to play with. Great addition to the T1 camper. Amazing for display. Great features.

The biggest complain, why does Lego use so many different colors for the parts in the Expert (Creator Expert Theme) sets ? It make it too easy to build, and the designer did not realize it was messing up with the inside of the van look. For newer models, Lego, please pay attention to this.

I have to shake my head at those self-proclaimed "expert builders" who complain so loudly about this model. Is it fragile in places? Certainly, but consider the amazing attention to detail and the various solutions to tricky engineering problems, which in some cases are truly ingenious. Does this mean that bits can come off when operating some of the moving parts? Yes, but this is an 18+ model and clearly meant for display and general admiration, rather than hours of rugged play. Are you truly an expert builder and something breaks? Put it back, it's the gift that keeps on giving! Do you not like parts of the design? Fix it, that's what I did. My version is proudly shown in its custom Olegabox, which is quite reflective, I apologize. I included some close-ups of the rear door and roof. I did find that the hinges of the rear door were held by only a single stud on 1x6 plates, so I replaced these with 1x8 plates. This means I had to reconfigure some of the outside tiling, making it slightly more angular. I also added a roof rack for the surfboard. I have seen many clever MOCs for this, but I tried for one that seemed more genuine to me and better fits the model scale. The board can still slide around somewhat, but it won't come sailing off the roof, which it won't anyway as long as my T2 sits there quietly and majestically in its box. I am mainly a Technics fan and this was my first venture into Creator, but I found it the most enjoyable and interesting build I have done so far. I did it together with my 8 year old daughter (also a Lego cognoscente), taking about 2 weeks at 1 stage per day. As Lego sets go, can't beat the experience at this price. But perhaps that will be surpassed by the UCS AT-AT, which I just acquired...

Overall design of bus is good. I enjoyed most of the build. The pop up roof design is awful and needs improvement. Not happy at all with the technic build portion of it. Needs to be redesigned. Very upset this was purchased and I’m this annoyed by it. Not fun once you get to the last bag.

Absolute GARBAGE

I will never buy another Lego set after this build. Garbage product with faulty parts and horrifically inane design flaws. Want the door to remain in the groove so you can open and close it? Too bad! It's going to pop out the moment you touch it. Want the back end to open and close? Too bad! The faulty small parts are going to pop off the moment you touch it. Want the wheels to move? Too bad! They are going to pop off the moment you move it. I won't even get into the horrible design of the motor that is supposed to attach underneath, that doesn't stay locked in place! This build made me a Lego hater and I will never buy another product. I'm also selling my collection.

Absolute Waste of a Lego Set

To be blatantly honest this is the worst lego set I’ve ever built. I wanted to make this set the 9th installment into my Creator Expert Car collection and was utterly disappointed right out of the gate. It’s not scaled to the right size as compared to the other van. The sliding door is too aggravating to even be discussed. The roof is too technical and flimsy and broke every-time I tried to lower it. Not too mention my set was missing three light blue exterior pieces. This is a waste of time as a set. I ending up taking off the technical moving part of the roof and it still didn’t fit right. Hoped this would be a fun set but was more disappointing and aggravating than any set I’ve ever built. TRUST ME it’s not worth your time.

I collect lego, and It is a part of my everyday life. After building every creator car to date, this camper stood out. It was trash. The set Crumbled apart and was so poorly designed, and quite frankly disappointing. The facts in the instructions were more fun than the building process. After building this, and a few other newer sets like the UCS AT-AT, I am quickly losing my faith in LEGO as a 20+ year consumer. I started disassembling it before I was done, so I quickly get rid of it
