Best lego set I've ever put together!

This set is amazing. There is an incredible amount of detail in this set. This is by far the largest set in my collection, you can read about how big it is and see pictures of how big it is, but you honestly do not realize how large it is until you have it built in front of you. This set took me about 15 hours total to build. That being said, if you're on the fence about getting this, make sure you have the time and room for it.
When I first heard about this set, I was super excited as I have always loved the republic gunship. I have model 7676 and it has always been my favorite until now.
I know several people are upset about the figures, but the figures do not matter in a set like this. This is not a play set, it's a display piece. The only complaint I have about the set isn't even to do with the ship, but the stand it rests on. The stand is just a little rickety, but that can be easily fixed.
Please ignore any reviews that are left on this that say they aren't getting this set or are saying this isn't in the movies. These reviews are coming from people who have no idea what they are talking about. People should not be reviewing this set without owning it or making silly claims such as saying it doesn't have any pieces or saying the ship is not in the movies when the box literally has screen caps of the ship from the movie. In my personal opinion, lego should remove these reviews because they are not offering any constructive advice as the people either do not even own the set or have no idea what they are saying.

Amazing model but controversial

The model is hands down 10/10... some stickers and minor flaws could have been improved but its my favorite and first UCS model. But it comes with many controversies... The figs are poor and like it or not is an important part of the set, the UCS Cantina has many exclusive figs for the same price so getting a slightly dirty mace and a "Yellow marked clone" with no arm/extra printing is kind of disappointing. The next is the way Lego responded to the community was horrid absolutely insulting! The box misprint was kind of funny and will increase sales for the product. One issue barely mentioned is the episode 2 gunship rather then a episode 3 (which is not different) but in the details about this product (right above this vary comment) it was from STAR WARS THE CLONE WARS! Which is a completely different model to the one we got.
Overall love the set but it has physical and political issues. Designers great job on the model, don't be scared of the minifigs.

Beautiful display set

I am a fan of UCS sets and really enjoyed this one. I am just thrilled that LEGO released a ship that has never been offered in UCS format before. I’m hoping this will continue with others that have never been created in UCS scale like the U Wing, tie bomber, Nebulon B, etc.

Great display model...just two minor complaints

This is a terrific display model. Much bigger than I thought it would be (and I assumed it would be big...!), so be sure you have plenty of space, especially if you are already displaying other UCS sets (and therefore are likely running short on available space!) Two minor gripes: it is nearly impossible to connect the panels on the underside of each wing. These aren't placed until you've already connected the wing itself as well as the lower support; as a result, you have very little room to maneuver when trying to connect these underside panels. Took me about an hour as other parts would fall off as I tried to squeeze my fingers in a very small space. Got it done, but frustrating. Also, the tips of the front blasters fall off with even the slightest touch. To fix this, I just added a small white connector so the blaster tips had something to connect with. Think it looks okay, but probably better without it. Again, these are minor gripes. The Gunship is a great addition to the UCS lineup!

Poor wing attachment

Terrible design of wing attachment and supporting wing louvers. Difficult to attach without multiple pieces falling off. Difficult to access the pieces to proper support pieces.

10/10 build. Mini-fig FAIL.

I bought this set day one. I love the build. It’s everything I wanted in a UCS Gunship. However, LEGO gave us the ability to “vote” on mini-figs, and they completely disregarded our input. The figures we received were obviously not the ones most fans voted for. If LEGO hadn’t included the option to vote for figures, we would have no room to complain. Does this company think us fans are not actually aware of what we want? The comments I have seen/heard from LEGO designers/management have been truly condescending. I wanted to give this set 5 stars. I want more prequel sets! Also, I loved having the ability to vote! But LEGO needs to listen if they want to keep us fans handing over our hard earned cash.

Oops. But wait....

I waited 3 hours before the store opened to buy this set. It was worth it to me.
I had heard rumors of a mistake in the box print art and I can confirm it.
The emblem on the box is for the Empire, not the Republic. Time will tell but perhaps that glaring error may make this set even more collectable.
Aside from that, this is a great display set which will command your attention. Only two mini figs which knocks it down on the playability area which may be important for some. Not for me so I give this set high makes and would recommend it.

Grab a drink and put some music

This set was a trip and a half to build. I did it in about 6.5 hours, but it was amazing.
The skeletal structure is strong enough to curl this bad boy (though I’d say the heart attack isn’t worth it). Everything feels firm and isn’t going to fall apart with the slightest breeze.
It is NOT for kids. This set could collapse a cave if dropped. It is heavy.
The manual is also very tedious and meticulous, only going 2-4 pieces per step. Meaning no more, “Wait… when was this supposed to be built???” Lost serious time on the Tantive IV with that. It looks overwhelming to start, but the breakdown of the steps makes it a cakewalk.
Again, the savant that made this set is a literal genius artist. It is insane how detailed the design is. r/prequel memes was outclassed by how many times this person watched the series.
It is a fantastic build, full of beauty as the ship comes to life, and it is sturdy.
