Structure too weak

The weak structure make it too hard to keep the shape during the building---worst USC I have

This is not the experience we want you to have. Please double-check your building steps and make sure that all pieces are pressed tightly together until you hear the 'click' sounds. We're always happy to troubleshoot together at LEGO.build/Service-BV.

For the amount I paid, where are the mini figs?
on December 25, 2021

There is another version of this that contains far more mini figs than the 2 offered in the current version. Are the mini figs sold separately? I was completely disappointed.

Good, but has a few issues
on December 2, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The build is very unique but also very fragile and has to be held in a specific way if you wish to play with this in a battle scenario too much pressure on the slide doors and they fall right off, (yes I built it to the exact lego I double checked) the drop down door on the rear cannot be pushed too hard or held improperly or many pieces on the back side will snap off, major issue--> the slide doors do NOT close the whole way, they pull out behind the ship and it's not Canon the designers made a huge error, the ships in the movies AND the games doors on both sides closed all the way up otherwise they wouldn't have them in space battles in Canon story. The door design ruined the set for me.

A Fine Addition To Your Collection!

With its 2+ foot wingspan, the UCS Republic Gunship was quite larger then I anticipated.
Definitely worth picking up!

My thoughts for this set…
on August 9, 2021

Building experience: Firstly, I would like to start with my building experience. I have rated this part as ‘Average’ because of some issues. When building this set, there were issues corresponding to some of the parts of the ship where some would fall and break off when trying to connect. There were a few times where I had to disconnect some parts just to get others on and it was a bit frustrating and there were some that I had left off because they just kept coming off. That was my building experience.
Design: Personally, I think the design is just magnificent. It looks and feels like an actual LAAT Gunship. The size of the ship is enormous and I know it’s a UCS set, but it’s huge! It is like the size of my Death Star. Awesome!
Worth your money: Personally, this set was worth every penny that I spent for this. Though there were some issues within the building process, the set still came out to be great. The number of mini figures included was a bit saddening to me as it only had two. Again, I know that it is a UCS but the Death Star was also a UCS and it came with 20+ minifigs so I’m not sure why this only had 2. Overall, it was worth my money!
Minifigures and Display: As said before, the number of mini figures included was a bit disappointing, but that did not stop this set from being so great. I don’t mind having a Mace Windu included as I have never owned him before and it was different from the regular Anakin or Obi-Wan like in the previous sets. I was expecting maybe a pilot or Padme Amidala or droids but the Clone Commander will do as well. As for displaying this set, it takes up quite a bit of space, but as it sits on the brick-built display piece, it looks nice on a shelf.
Box Art: One thing I like about UCS sets is their boxes. I just love the black and white color scheme and how things (piece count, theme name, etc.) are organized. The color really brings out the art. The pictures also give a nice touch and sense of where this ship comes from and what it is based on. Though the box does consist of the wrong logo as it is an Imperial one and not Republic does not upset me, but it is hilarious. I don’t always save my boxes to save space, but this one, I just have to keep around.

Thanks for your review! We’re sorry you’re having some difficulty keeping the set together. We always test and retest our toys to make sure that they’ll hold up to play when they’re built exactly as shown in the instructions. If your set ever seems like it's not very sturdy, the best thing to do is double-check your build. Sometimes there may be a piece just a little off from where it should be. You’ll also want to make sure that all the pieces are pressed tightly together.
If you'd like a hand troubleshooting the build, or if you find that any pieces aren't holding together as they should, feel free to give us a shout at LEGO.build/Service-BV.

Great fun
on April 6, 2022
Posted by: Clonecommando
I have always wanted to had a gunship model in my room so I got this model and I surpassed my expectations. The model looks amazing on my shelf and after filling it with clones I think it looks even better. My only complaint is how when picking it up to move it is very back heavy. The problem with that is that the back is very thin and can break easily so move with care.

Amazing build with flaws
on August 20, 2021
Posted by: Kimbab77
The size of this build is impressive. Love the overall experience, design, and visuals it provides. Having said that, it has flaws. There are many gaps, and pieces that are not reinforced for the stress they’ll be put under by the sheer size of the structure. While moving it from the build table to its display case, I felt sagging and stress at specific locations, which caused me to investigate and take a couple pieces off to have a closer look. I did find some pieces to have come loose and shift things. It was a bit frustrating with the price I paid for this set and what it SHOULD be overall, so be aware that this could happen to you while moving. Having said this. I would buy it again, but I’d break out my spare parts bin and reinforce some specific areas!
