Encircle them we must, then divide.

What a fantastic build. The Gunship is one of my all-time favorite ships. The only other ship that comes close is an ARC-170. I am a huge fan of not only the clone wars but Episode 2 where this ship made its debut. It is beautiful on display. However, this is not a playset, and please don't expect it to be. This is for collectors who enjoy the design and look of the ship. I hope that one day they will re-release a playset version of this set. Until then, this will be at the very front of my display next to the UCS Falcon.

One of my favorite LEGO Star Wars sets ever!

I have been a prequel fan and a clone wars fan for a long time and when I found out that they were coming out with a UCS LAAT, I lost my mind. This set is super fun to build and the functions of the ship are accurately represented in a large scale. Sure this may not be minifigure scale, but the shear size of this build is amazing and is so awesome to look at! Part of me wishes there was a safe way to swoosh this thing around!

Nice set, but a bit frustrating.

Being new to newer Lego sets, by decades, I'm finding the builds quite fun. Some natural Lego frustrations occur, like implosions while building from too much pressure in the wrong places. Some, though, I feel are avoidable through some engineering. I've added perhaps six pieces to the build that adds stability. Two have gone into the rear of the cockpit portion to keep the brace piece from popping out from even the slightest pressure and requiring a disassembly to put it back together. The other four go on the ramp and the door on it. Slight pressure on the door always seem to to pop the entire area apart but can be reinforced by two 2x2 corner pieces and two 1x3's each on the sides of the assembly. The front turret guns' "barrels" were loose, and fell out easily, but the application of a layer of thin double-sided tape wrapped around the base, solved the looseness problem and will stay easily. Others seem to have encountered the problem of the turrets falling off easily. I've noticed that as well. Parts that are easily knocked off while handling in order to assemble could easily be made as last, finishing steps. With the number of times I've had to reassemble the set, I've learned to save those parts for last. The horizontal wing supports extending from the side sometimes pop off during assembly, usually when placing the large wings and cannons on, as well as the front and back cover plate assemblies. It teaches one care and patience, although, can try both when putting the finished piece in it's display spot... and a part falls off. Still, all in all, I'm doing two more of the same set in custom colors. Perhaps I'm a bit sadomasochistic, and I would recommend, overall, this cool build!

We're sorry you're having trouble with your new Republic Gunship™. When your set seems like it's not very sturdy, the best thing to do is double-check your build. Sometimes there may be a piece or two just a little off from where they should be. You'll also want to make sure that all the pieces are pressed tightly together. You can always call or chat with us at LEGO.build/Service-BV too. We're happy to help!

I definitely liked the size of the build, and the aspect of it being entirely open is cool. I am disappointed with some of the engineering on the front top half of the ship where the pilots sit, it could have easily been bolted in more places, and the rear doors are not ideal... they fall off easily and don't close.
Don't even get me started on the lack of minifigs, that's ridiculous.

Oh no! Looks like we’ve missed out on making the Republic Gunship™ as awesome as the other Star Wars™ sets. Feedback from amazing builders like you helps us make our sets better. We’ll share your feedback with our design teams, so they know what our builders would like to see more of in our sets.

Overall a good build

I loved this build, and I love the end result! My only issues are that (1) one of my stickers on my sticker sheet tore just from me removing it from the sheet. I requested a new sheet, but have yet to hear back about it. (2) At one point in the build (step 149 specifically), a black technic pin would not hold a piece on as needed. I googled the issue to find a Reddit thread in which someone suggested using a different technic piece. Fortunately, I keep all of my extra pieces and had two others I could use, but there was clearly an issue with those specific technic pieces.

At last a solid Star Wars kit

I’ve built the Millennium Falcon, VERY fragile, the AT-AT, fragile and the Devastator, somewhat fragile. The Republic Gunship is much more robust and can be easily handled. The instruction book is very thick and it’s hard to get it open wide enough to see the parts list for each step.
