Lego UCS Gunship

When this set was revealed Lego had already messed up on one of the best prequel ships by putting in the wrong logo and with the grammar errors, however at this point I didn't care as I hadn't put this build together yet.
Last Friday (8/27/21) I went in and bought the set in person, and after getting home I began to put it together. On the #5 section, I began to miss 1 or 2 pieces and thought they weren't needed to complete the set, however, this happened several more times during this build. The FINAL thing that ruined this build for me was when I had completed it, I then began to move it carefully to a spot where it could be displayed and was distraught when three days of work had gone down the drain, the back part (Scout vehicle exit hatch portion) and more of that back area began to break apart. I still haven't put this together and I don't know when I will.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Disappointing

I was very excited to build this! as a UCS build i expected some interesting build techniques and a solid build.
I am not a star wars fan, so really just wanted to build a cool ship. This was an awful build.
The build was finicky, and poorly designed. Often having sections fall off while working on other areas.
The model was entirely off balance for a majority of the build. Many of the details were just barely held together.

I purchased some other, smaller and less expensive sets at the same time and was thrilled with them. This was such a disappointment.
From a UCS I expected enjoyment. I did not even finish the build it was so bad. (skipping the last 2 bags, i dismantled it entirely)
FYI. The UCS millennium falcon rocks my socks. The UCS Y-Wing is probably my favorite build of all time.

Frustrating!!!

My 13 year old son saved his money and bought this. I'm letting him leave a review:
This is a insane set! It is highly detailed, but do not play with it. In the short time I've had it, it has broken 4 times. Every time I have had to repair it, it takes hours to repair. It is super frustrating.

It’s great they asked what we want. Not so great when its not what we thought. I love the Republic Gunship, just not this one. Here it is in a nutshell: it’s too big and looks a bit off in its design - it doesn’t even come close to minifigure scale when it seems it could have, the play features are weak - or just not there, and the mini figs are not exciting at all(seriously, no pilots)!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Waste of money

This set is not minifigure scaled. It comes with terrible figures, not even a pilot to operate the vehicle. LEGO ignored our wishes and made what they wanted and doomed this set from the start. Set looks terrible on display cause it's a troop carrier without troops and even if you separately buy them they look to small due to oversized set.

no exclusive minifigs but in the lukes landspeeder we get one aswell as the ucs atat, get it together lego. the republic fighter tank has a better mace windu then this set.

I don’t recommend this kit unless you really enjoy rebuilding it when it falls apart and have fingers the size of a 3 year old for some steps. Definitely not worth the money!!!
