I prefer mulching my garden cuttings versus burning for may reasons. The Sun Joe makes piles of branches and vines from my bushes and grapevines into garden mulch. Better for the air than burning which is frowned upon in my city. I've used my machine for four (4) hours earlier this summer and about an hour just this weekend. Works great. I purchased a replacement blade set ready for the fact the machine is only as good as its cutting blades. They are reversible too, so twice the expected life.

Really reduces the trash, had two years growth on two snowballs, finely, really cut it back. Just the flowers filled tow large black 55 gal trash bags, and the wooden steams just little over 1/2 half of the same size trash bags (maybe more like 18:1). I highly recommend this product especially when on sale.

I bought this item late summer in prep for cleaning out my significant garden. I had numerous tall sunflowers, zinnia and other flowers that I wanted to mulch and put back into the beds to improve the soil. Plus there was just too much to try to put out or compost as is.
The shredder works really well. I typically cut the flowers at the soil line to avoid the roots and cut the spent flowers from the top. Then I let them sit for day or two to fully dry out. Feeding them into the shredder was easy. Most chop up fine enough to sprinkle back out into the garden or add to the compost bin with the fall leaves. Mulching will greatly speed up the compost process.

Product works pretty well. Just wish the opening had a little more clearance to allow for limbs with "crooks/elbows. Other than that, it performed admirably. Maybe a setting could be added so it could handle other trash, ie: leaves.
