Great value for the cost!

Replaced my 20 year old AL-KO electric chipper with this one. Impressed with how easy it is to get from point a to point b, without ending over, or having to carry it!
Used it fir the first tine, and powered thru everything quite easily. If I have a complaint, it's that the hopper is quite small, making it hard to load twigs and small branches.....the AL-KO was HUGE ....,and that sun Joe outlet is quite low to the ground, making it difficult to get larger style containers under it to catch the chipped product!

I have to reduce garden trimmings down to a size that will fit in the green recycling bin. This meant a few hours pruning and trimming, then a few hours chopping the trimmings so I could fit more into the bin. I had trimmed about 1/2 of my Bougainvillea - and had a pile of limbs. With the Sun Joe Chipper; it took me less then 1/2 hour to reduce the trimmings to a small pile of mulch. My only regret is that I didn't buy one years ago.
Pros: Even Consistency in Mulch, Easy To Use, Compact Design, Easy Clean-up
I would recommend this to a friend!

CAREFULLY MEASURED EVERY LIMB TO MAKE SURE THEY WERE NOT MORE THAN 1.5" IN DIAMETER(HAD ABOUT 30) ABOUT EVERY 3RD OR 4TH LIMB THE CHIPPER JAMMED! IT APPEARS THAT YOR CANT CHIP ANY LIMB WITH A CROOK OR BEND IN IT! I GUESS IF I WERE CHIPPING BROOM HANDLES THIS WOULD BE GREAT!

This machine is like all the other Sun Joe products I have purchased. If you have trees this is a must have!!! It's light weight easy to move around. Tears up limbs in seconds. I just love these products run off electricity as they are so easy to start and you don't have to refuel with gas. I have one of those that I'm going to get rid of. I'm a 64 year old woman living on an acre so there is a lot to do. This is a great product especially for the price. Thank you Sun Joe for making my life easier.

When in works, it's great. Mine only occasionally turns on. No combination of on/off switch, cct. breaker reset, hopper safety interlock, ensuring cutters turning easily, changing extension cords, etc., helps. Just sometimes it turns on, mostly it won't.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I LOVE it!! I cant believe how great this Sun Joe Electric Wood Chipper is! Its great for many reasons but ill start with ...free mulch! Its so great to finally be able to recyle all the shrubbery clippings , tree limbs and things that fall out of the trees into great mulch that makes my beds look better and improves the soil. No waste and no more hauling yard trash out to the street where it may or may not get picked up! This chipper is really light weight...i can handle it myself easily because its on wheels. i just put it over the bed i want to mulch..feed though the branches and clippings i want to dispose of and the mulch drops out underneath...it couldnt be any easier! it takes nice size limbs up to 1.5 inches thick. Theres a tool for pushing things through thats attached with a cord so it wont get lost. Safety features include rubber flaps so things wont bounce out, a way to disable the on switch and it wont start if its opened up to clear a jam. (ive never had a jam!) It was super easy to assemble out of the box . I really like that its electric...just plug it in and its ready to go. Its surprisingly powerful for its size! when im through with it i put a waterproof cover over it and push it behind the shrubbery where its ready to go again anytime. Its actually fun to use!

Worst product ever.

After only fifteen minutues of running the machine is broken. The blades impacted the splash guard and tore a hole thru it. This was not from misuse. Only twigs and leafs were being mulched at the time. This must be a known engineering failure as the replacement parts are out of stock.

As good as they say

Assembly was very straight forward and fast, but placement of screws for bottom support was not convenient; 180 degrees would have made assembly easier with less wrist strain. If bottom support was six inches larger, a standard nursery pot would fit flat under it to collect chips. As is, a tarp and the pot resting on the bar do reasonably well for when you are not working where you want the chips to fall. Nursery pots are a comfortable size to lift and carry to mulching location so you can keep machine near debris. This machine worked for hours while cleaning up downed tree mess. So easy to use and so easy to clear the inevitable jams. (You will want to push the limits to make sure you learn what sizes fit; I found it varied with material. Birch did a bit better than lilac.) And it rolls back into the shed as easy as pie.
Pros: Compact Design, Even Consistency in Mulch, Easy Clean-up
