This chipper is for very small limbs (up top1.5 inches) and leaves. It has a small tunnel on top that everything goes through to get to the blades. The tunnel is too small and chopping leaves is a slow process.

Lasted about two months. Emailed the with problem. Told me to try cleaning hopper and switches when its in the electric motor. Did as they suggested. Did not help. Emailed back. No responce.

Chipper does palm fronds

I have Areca, Manila, bamboo, and Peach palms. remove leaf base and push through chipper. This makes two products gravel like from frond midrib and a hay of leaflets.
Pros: Palm fronds no leaf Base, Compact Design, Light weight
Cons: Jams, Limited piece diameter

I found this unit worked as advertised for cleaning up branches and yard debris for the average homeowner. Assembly was easy. Once you get a feel for the feed rate, it does a nice job. Best on branches 1" or less in size. Happy with my purchase.
Pros: Easy Set-up, Easy To Use, Compact Design, Easy Clean-up

I ordered my Sun Joe chipper shredder Sunday and got it today, Tuesday. I immediately put it to the test and it out performed my expectations. If the directions are followed, the unit performs the way that it should and no one should have any complaints. I will definitely try more of the Snow Joe products.
Pros: Blades Stay Sharp, Even Consistency in Mulch, Easy Clean-up, Compact Design

This little chipper really gets it done! In a little over an hour I had filled 2 50 gallon garbage cans with wood chips, which I distributed around the drip lines of my bushes, and trees. I don't think you can get a better chipper for the money this one costs, but you HAVE to stay away from branches bigger than 1.5 inches, as it says in the manual. I expect to get years of service from this simple, yet well designed, machine!

Just fired it up today after I bought a heavier extension cord. It seems perfect for my urban yard. Smaller lemon branches, trumpet creeper, nothing big will fit into it. The only downside I see so far is it's hard to use for leaves. It chops them up fine, but the entry port is really made for branches. It grinds up branches with leaves on them just fine. As long as it holds up, I think I will be very happy with it.

It work great but you need to chip small branch's as soon as you cut them do not let them dry out. Not so good with dry branch's it will stall.
