I ordered this pump through insurance since I had the older model (Pump in Style Advanced) and loved that one. Unfortunately the max flow feels cheap and flimsy. The suction is not nearly as good and letdown mode only lasts for about 45 seconds instead of the 2+ minutes like the older model. I have tried using different flanges, readjusting, disconnecting and reconnecting pieces, but it still does not compare to the older pump. I wish I got a different model or brand since my insurance covered all of the pumps offered on their website but I was convinced this would be just as good as the Advanced - it is not!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When I was picking out a pump from the hospitals store, I was offered three different types. After my last pregnancy I used the pump in style and loved it. I had so many medela pumping parts and accessories so when offered a choice at the hospital supplier I chose the medela. The girl who was working attempted to talk me out of this pump and I wasn’t sure why until it was too late. The negatives- This pump has a very odd suck pattern, it feels mechanical and not smooth at all. The entire machine vibrates very loudly. There is no seal so if you bend over or if the bottles with the flanges attach tip over you will lose so much milk! The positives- I do like the new flanges and it comes with a battery pack.
Save yourself money and do not buy this pump. I will now have to buy a better functioning pump out of pocked because I wasted my insurance issued pump on this model.

Stopped working after a month

I’ve had my pump maybe a month. Bought it brand new. Spent all that money on it. For it to stop suctioning. I’m very disappointed Bc now I no longer have a pump to use.

Constantly clogs tubes 3 times, motor damage maybe

This is my third Medela pump I have gotten through insurance for my wife, the first two worked great but this model we have used 3 times now and all three times milk got back into the tubes so had to throw tubes out and buy new ones. This happened three times now and most likely got milk in the motor. Having to constantly buy tubing every single time is a waste of money and you can buy a different pump out of pocket after the 6th replacement. Never had any issues with the Advanced model.

NOTHING like the older Pump in style

Just terrible. My 4-year-old VERY used pis advanced puts this piece of (...) to shame in terms of milk production.
Additional issues: - The flanges are not transparent so I have no idea when all my milk has been expressed and can't see if my nipple is centered in the flange. **Those prone to mastitis- BEWARE! - Their are no suction settings, so to increase flow, I have to just push the "+" a thousand times until I think I've maxed it out.

Easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for free with my health insurance, I love that it is very portable and easy to use. It is lighter than the spectra brand. This is the pump that I take with me to work to use regularly. It is also easy to clean and very easy to put the pieces back together. Overall it is a very good choice for a pump for regular use. I use it 3 times per week as I am only working part time, and it has worked great for the 4 months I have been using it. I received a gift card for my honest review on this product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great pump

The pump has allowed me to nurse and pump enough to have saved over 79 feedings for my 2 month old. The pump allows for dual pumping and the letdown feature always gets me a few more ounces once my breast are emptied. I liked the pump so much, I actually purchased the manual pump to take with me everywhere. I highly recommend this pump to any mothers who are looking to purchase a pump. Medela products are durable and reliable

Suction power is NOT hospital grade

I got this pump through my insurance and I’m struggling to keep my milk supply up due to the lack of suction strength. I visited a lactation consultant and we tested the strength of the suction… 150!!! Extremely low. Pumps should be between 250-300 suction power to meet hospital grade standards. I’m shocked that my insurance company even provided this since it’s inadequate. Wish I could have a better pump but I’m not really sure what brand to get and everyone seems to have mixed reviews about all pumps. I only get about 1.5 oz from each breast after an hour of power pumping.
