Works well but nothing groundbreaking

I have used probably 5 different types of electric pumps in the past 4 years so I have a lot of opinions about them. This one is VERY quiet, which is a great pro. The flanges are more comfortable than some others because of the silicone edging. It was nice that it came with two sizes but I wish there was one size bigger that came with it or that you had the option to choose the size before buying. I seem to have to purchase larger flanges for pretty much every pump. I like the way that it has a letdown mode, you can do single or double, and it's compatible with other Medela products, but there doesn't seem to be anything really groundbreaking about this pump. What I really want someone to come out with is a way to set a different suction on each side, because I have different needs for each nipple and one is much more sensitive. I do love the bag it came with and would probably use it for other items after I'm no longer pumping. All in all I like this pump more than some others but it's not necessarily my favorite one. Thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel for giving me this pump to try!

Awful Suction

I’ve used medela pump in style advanced for 4 kids… wanted it for baby 5, only to discover it’s been replaced. Was hoping the new model would work but it’s awful… I’m an over producer, typically get 70-80oz/day. I get nothing with the new pump… fortunately I saved my old pumps, so I’m able to pump and get milk… but moms beware, this new pump is simply horrid. No suction at all.

Used to love but no more

I HATE the new model of this pump. I had three of the previous model (kids are spread out) and I was a huge fan. However, I literally hate this redesign. It tips and spills easily (which when pumping, is a slap in the face). But, the worst part is when you take it apart and clean it, it is a nightmare to get working again. Go back to the old design because this version is garbage.

Disappointed

I got this pump with insurance for baby 2 and after using the medela PISA for over a year with an oversupply, I was really disappointed with this ‘upgrade’. The first thing I noticed is that this pump is LOUD by comparison and annoying especially in the middle of the night. The suction just does not feel very strong and I less milk than expected. I also still felt full after pumping. The colored connectors are inconvenient because its hard to tell how full the bottles are and it’s difficult to change bottles if you happen to have an oversupply like I do. I wish I just had a second Advanced. That model was stronger, quieter, and easier to see everything.

Are all pumps this awful?

I hate this. First time mom, but 8x per day I'm strapped down for 20 minutes as I have to pump and this was the device the hospital issued me. I drop something on the floor or the baby cries and I reach for him and drop the pump they leak somewhere from the top of the device and I get milk all over. Happens at least twice per day. I'm not producing enough to waste any! The cups don't fit well and I've always been really small cup, sure things are bigger now, but I can't imagine they are an abnormal size. The bag barely fits everything back in and while my baby is in the NICU and I'm back and forth every day I'm always struggling to get it put away.
It's loud and clunky sounding, sounds like a cheap bit of garbage about to die any day.
It gets one star because it is portable with the battery pack, which only lasted a few days with 8 batteries. And another star because insurance paid for it, but they should be ashamed of themselves for paying for this junk.

SUPPLY DROP!

Newer is not always better. I have only ever used Medela products and have been very brand loyal to Medela for over 5 years. This pump completely changed my mind. I always switch from breastfeeding to EP after baby starts biting. This pump does not hold up. The suction is TERRIBLE. Doesn't matter what settings I use, I can never get more than 3 ounces and I still feel FULL. I got mastitis 3 times in 4 months and my supply dropped tremendously with this pump. I have never been so disappointed. Don't waste your time or money on this pump.

NOT PORTABLE unless you use batteries

So this pump is actually NOT PORTABLE unless you want to be wasteful and use a bunch of batteries! It was not clear to me based on the product pictures and descriptions when buying so it really feels like it’s misleading from their communication.
There is no display on the pump so you have no idea what level you’re on. When you turn it on it starts on a pretty intense level so need to be aware of that unless it will hurt you.
Oh and it’s super loud.
No light so it’s hard to use in the night.
I’m so disappointed with this pump.
Really don’t get why so many people recommended this one to me. I guess based on reading some reviews here it looks like the new version sucks and people loved the previous one.

Great Pump! Easy to Use & Clean!

Love the ease of this pump. This is the second one I have owned and by far the best.It is also very easy to assemble and clean with not too many parts.
