Small and Sleek

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a mom of two and a seasoned pumper as I exclusively nurse and work out of the home. This is the second Medela I have used and there are some nice upgrades from the previous Pump In Style that I had.
First, the positives:
*it has a unique vibration that truly feels like a baby mouth, rather than just a vacuum. This is definitely the best letdown trigger I have felt on a pump! I had a letdown faster with this pump than any other.
*it’s small and sleek, which makes it easy to transport. The pump comes with a cute tote that fits everything you need for pumping on the go.
*the flanges have silicon edges which makes them so much more comfortable and easy on your skin. It also helped me get a better seal. I use a hands free pump bra and these phlanges were way more comfortable than the all plastic ones.
*its very intuitive and I hardly even needed to read the directions.
*its a lot quieter than the previous model. In fact, the first time I used it my husband commented on how much better it sounded.
*it comes with a battery pack, which is handy for pumping on the go (you do need to use batteries with it).
*i like that the tubing is connected with a “y” device so you don’t have tubing constantly getting tangled.
*it comes with a lot of accessories like the battery pack, tote, extra bottles, ice pack, cooler, phlanges and a bottle holder.
*there are fewer parts than other pumps and they are very easy to clean.

*I wish there was a digital display that would show pumping time. Pumping at work is a challenge and I don’t always have my phone with me to know how long I’ve been gone. I also wish there was a display to show the suction strength. I also wish there was a way to change the speed of the suction.
*the connectors at the top of the bottle are solid and it’s hard to know if the milk is flowing the first few minutes. I wish it were clear so you can see if you are positioned appropriately.
*it would be handy if there were a built in battery pack in the pump. I appreciate the battery pack being included but it requires several batteries and that will get expensive to use.
*although it’s quieter, it’s still not the quietest pump on the market.
Overall, this is a great pump that I have been very happy with. My pump output has stayed the same with this pump as compared to one in another brand, but this model is definitely smaller and more portable, which is a big plus for those of us who commute to work or travel often. Thank you to Stellar Product Testing for allowing me the opportunity to try this great pump.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never thought I would be such a huge Medela pump fan! I know, I know. Crazy right? I heard so many mixed reviews from the older pumps while pregnant with my first that I decided to go with another name brand... Had this pump been around 3 years ago, that would have been a life changer and enough to turn me!
My son was born at the end of April 2020 and I received this pump around Mid July. Wow is all I can say. The sleek design is awesome- super compact and leaves plenty of room in the wonderful pump bag for all of my necessities.
The efficiency of this pump is great and I loved the easily adjustable settings. I was able to express/remove my normal amount of milk (sometimes even more) in less time than with my other pump! This pump and the settings were really simple to navigate and I was always love when manuals include a “quick start” guide.
Do I wish it had a small LED screen to see exactly what my settings were or my pump time? Yeah, that would be a bonus BUT do not let that sway you from not purchasing this pump. It’s hands down my favorite electric breast pump to date!

Cleaning the pump and the parts is a breeze. I love that the membranes/duckbills are completely eliminated for this pump. Those things are a pain in my side when it comes to pumping. I can’t even say how many I’ve accidentally torn while washing- and if you pump often (which means swapping parts often) you know those duckbills aren’t cheap... Hallelujah to fewer pump parts to wash! Also, I think my absolute favorite accessory is the portable battery pack! I’m almost never near an outlet as luck will have it, and I was so happy to be able to pump in bed without having to worry about my pump coming unplugged.
The only other downside or piece of constructive criticism I have for this pump is the part that you screw the bottles into and insert the flange... I wish it either 1). Didn’t come down as far, or 2). Was transparent instead of white. I overpumped a handful of times due to overactive letdown (and multiple letdowns) in some sessions. Oops. But honestly that has happened to me with other pumps as well if I get busy doing another task simultaneously. It happens but just something to think about. *If you’re nearing the top of the bottle, be mindful that it can be difficult to see exactly how full it is getting.*
Overall, I really cannot say enough positive things about this breast pump! It’s pretty cool to see how much these things have evolved in just 3 years. I’m thoroughly impressed with Medela on this one, way to go!

Amazing Upgrade!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very impressed by all of the enhancements the new Medela Pump In Style Max Flow, as an owner of the previous model I can tell a lot of work went into this product overhaul.
The valves, silicone tubing, the pump, and stylish bag are all new and a major upgrade from the previous model. The bottles are the same and I was able to use and older set when I needed to pack a few extra bottles for a trip to a family members house. The ice pack and bag were a very nice addition and was a lifesaver while driving.
The suction power on this new model is fantastic and I have been able to express more milk and keep my supply going for my growing baby. Previously, I had issues with my supply dwindling after a few months with my previous newborns, but this time around this pump has been a life saver.
Overall, I would reccomend this pump to any mother to be as I realize there are a lot of options out there and Medela is a trusted and phenomenal brand used in hospitals around the country.

Amazing Pump!

I love this Medela pump. I have previously only used Spectra, and was pleasantly surprised with the ease and comfort of use with this Pump in Style Max Flow. I love that there are few parts that are all easy to clean, it's a closed system (peace of mind against gross buildup in the tubing), and that is is easy to use! I found the operating of the pump to be similar to the Spectra, and the strength to be similar as well. The soft breast shields are VERY comfortable, and the pump itself is relatively quiet, too. I wish there was something on the pump to watch for amount of time - instead I had to use my phone, which wasn't a big deal. This is a great pump for full time pumping moms - the tubing is one tube that splits for two breast shields. If pumping on one side, you would need to buy a singular tube - that's kind of a downside for me since I combine pumping and nursing. Overall, loved this pump and it's compactness. Thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me this pump to review!

Thanks for sharing your feedback! If you're looking to single pump, you can do so using the tubing that is included. There is a port in the center of the tubing so that you can place the unused end. That will allow that end to remain sealed, while you single pump. If you have any questions, feel free to chat with us!

Compact & Efficient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Madela Pump in Style with MaxFlow is a great choice for nursing mothers! I loved that it was compact, came with everything I needed including the bag to carry it in (which was a great size) and the cooler pack and I didn't need to buy anything separately. It was really easy to set-up and use the first time too! I like how small the device is so it's not taking up too much space, the buttons are self-explanatory and the parts are great quality. I also really liked that it was efficient, comfortable to use and the parts were super easy to clean. The only thing I would change is that I wish it was a rechargeable pump. The battery pack is nice but I still felt like I needed to pump in an area that had an electrical outlet. I also would have loved a display to tell me how long I am pumping for. But overall, it's a great product and I would highly recommend it!

Quality Pump and Accessories

I was given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I'm a breastfeeding and pumping mom of three and overall would recommend the Max Flow. The pump, accessories, and packaging are well thought. Everything feels solid and good quality; nice matte plastics with a pleasant feel. Great quality soft-sided medium carry bag that doesn't scream baby and can be used even after baby is grown.
The pump is quiet but not whisper quiet and makes sort of a soft burping sound during operation. The settings were easy to adjust. I don't think I expressed more milk compared to other pumps. The micro vibrations felt strange but not uncomfortable.
I really like that there are no super small pieces to get lost down sinks. Most pumps have small valves that are made of plastic/silicone and easy to misplace. The Max Flow parts are easy to clean. Love that it came with 4 sturdy bottles, a battery pack for portability, and 4 breast flanges. I wish the flanges came in two sizes instead of all the same. I also wish the plastic pump pieces were clear instead of white and gray. I'd prefer to see how my nipples are drawn into the flange and whether they're rubbing.

Great, powerful pump!

It combines the strength of the symphony with the ease of the original pump and style portable. I recommend getting a pumping bra to go with it. Huge improvement!

Huge improvement from my previous pump in style. It’s quieter and suction simulates more closely to how baby nurses. The new flexible flanges are very comfortable. I really like the yellow bases, no more tipping over and spilling milk. I wish the pump had a clock so you can track how long you pump without having to check phone or watch. I was also hoping that the new pump in style would have a rechargeable battery instead of having to be plugged in all the time or carry around battery pack this is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
