Not as effective as I was hoping!

I was very excited to try this pump, as first impressions right out of the box were really great! This pump is very sleek and small, came packaged nicely, has a handy little quick-start guide, two different sized flanges, and a carry bag with cooler pack that is a great bonus!
Unfortunately, this pump did not live up to my expectations. For me it was not efficient at all - I expressed roughly half as much as I normally get when I pump, which was incredibly disappointing. The flanges are oval-shaped with a "soft rim" and are extremely comfortable compared to others I've used. I did not appreciate that the "let down" function automatically switched off after 60 seconds. Let-down does not always happen during the first minute for me, so I would have liked the option to have more manual control over this function. I couldn't feel the micro-vibrations at all and don't think they helped me express more milk. I also don't care for the housing that attaches the flanges to the bottles - it is an opaque plastic that completely obstructed my view of expression. I like being to see how much milk is coming out so that I can reposition or adjust, but the design of this prevented that. I also wish that this pump featured a timer or some sort of countdown indicator to tell you how long you've been pumping for.
These pump parts were very easy to clean, which is a plus! I also totally appreciate all the accessories that come with. The carry bag is very functional and pleasant looking and fits all the pieces nicely. It also comes with a battery pack and two sets of bottles!
I would definitely use this pump on the go or for travel, as it is compact and portable, but can't say that I recommend it for every day use. Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me this pump to try out!

Simple easy to use design

I received the Pump in Style Max Flow from the Stellar Product Testing Panel and love that they have further simplified the pumping process. The redesigned flanges are really comfortable and soft around the edges so you don't have plastic poking into your skin. They've also simplified the valve where you don't have a million pieces to put together that are always falling off. The whole unit if is really small and efficient, it is pretty and discrete so you could keep on your desk without anyone really knowing what it is. I wasn't able to pump as much as I do normally but I need very small flanges that were not available at the time so I believe that was affecting my output. Overall the pump is cute, compact and easy to use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It does the job

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. The first two times I tried this pump, I hated it. The vibrations felt unnatural and I didn’t seem to express as much milk as with my previous pump.
After trying the pump a few more times, it has grown on me but I still don’t love it. I found that if I hold the bottles at a specific angle, I can express my usual amount of milk. The settings did make it easy to find a comfortable level of suction, and the parts are easy to clean. The main thing I like about this pump is the size. It’s small and light, which is great for taking it to work every day. Overall, I’m not in love with it but it does the job.

Small, convenient pump!

I received the Medela Pump in Style with Max Flow to test from the Stellar Product Panel. I hadn’t used a Medela pump with my first baby so I was excited to try and see how it compared.
I really liked how small and portable the Max Flow pump was. It even came with a carry bag included that was large enough for the pump, bottles, even a snack and book!
I liked that it had preprogrammed settings, which automatically switched from the letdown phases to pumping after 1 minute because my other pump did not. I didn’t like that the Max Flow did not have a digital screen, I liked that feature so I could keep track of my total pumping time.
My favorite feature was how easy it was to clean! There is one piece that attaches the bottle to the pump with only one extra suction cup within the flange. It was nice to not have a lot of extra parts to wash and keep track of!
Overall, I did like this product and would recommend it. It may not work as efficiently to remove milk as all pumps but it so convenient and easy to use. And comes with everything you need to take it somewhere to pump!
I would recommend this to a friend!

So Sleek!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My favorite part of this pump is definitely the size & look of the pump. This is so much more compact and sleek compared to my other pump in style pump/bag. I feel better carrying this around to work. It’s discrete & lightweight. I didn’t necessarily notice an increase in the amount that I pumped with this, but it was definitely more enjoyable. The silicone around the nipple covers is so much more comfortable than the hard plastic. I don’t feel like cleaning was that much more difficult than my other pump. The new parts are just a few more pieces to deal with. I never had an issue with my milk backing up into the lines, so I can’t attest to the benefit of that part. I was given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I definitely like this Medela pump more than the one I had with my first child, but there are some sticking points I just can’t get past.
The good first - it is so small and light, it’s so easy to take with me on the go. It’s so nice to not lug a huge, heavy pump bag to and from work every day. And I love the microvibrations Medela added. It makes pumping so much more comfortable. And I was grateful that 21mm flanges were included! As someone who needs smaller than average flanges, it was nice to not have to buy extra pieces and wait for them to arrive before using this pump.
What I didn’t love - the pump automatically switches from stimulation to expression mode after about a minute which is super annoying. I need more than 60 seconds of stimulation to get a let down, so I had to manually switch it back every time. I wish I could adjust the speed of the suction as well as the strength, and because I couldn’t, I didn’t get as much milk from the Medela as from the other brand I’m currently using. I don’t love cleaning the parts - the big piece the flange fits into and the big membrane feel bulky and awkward to wash. And I wish so much that this had an internal battery. I like the flexibility of being able to sit wherever I want whole pumping, not having to choose a seat based on where the nearest outlet is.
Overall this is a good pump with some flaws. It is so easy to pack and go, which is a huge advantage over many other pumps. And the microvibrations make pumping so much more comfortable - I don’t think I can ever pump without them again. Thank you to Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me this pump and giving me the opportunity to try it!

Great pump with nice features

This has been a great pump to use at home and on the go. It has a nice cooler and I like that it comes with additional bottles and caps, and a specially molded icepack that forms to the bottles. I have only had to pump outside of the house a couple times, but I find the travel features of this pump very easy to use. It is also really compact and lightweight and comes with a sleek carrying bag. The most unique feature of this pump is the oval shaped breast shields. Although I have to remember to position them correctly before use, I really feel like they are more comfortable than typical breast shields and create better suction. The different modes are easy to use and navigate. Its also fairly quiet. I only wish there was a digital timer since I often seem to lose track of time when pumping. As far as cleaning, its nice that there aren't a million parts. I received this breast pump from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

I loved how easy the parts were to clean and that its a closed system so no worries about milk getting i to the pump and getting funky! I thought this did a great job of getting me empty, the preprogrammed settings definitely helped make a quick job!
