[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Pump in Style with Max Flow by Medela is a wonderful breast pump. Super easy to use when using the pre programmed option. This option is a wonderful for new breastfeeding moms or pros. It’s like magic the pump knows exactly how much suction needs to happen in order for milk to flow easy and quickly. The suction worked so well the first bottle I pumped was 5oz. Which is a lot on first try for me. The shields are very comfortable to use and very happy they include 2 sizes to see which one is a better fit. The pump is very easy to clean not a lot of parts which is great when you are super busy.
The amount of extras included is fabulous. I was able to store my milk with the included ice pack cooler while my family and I went on a short car trip. I didn’t have to worry about the milk getting spoiled with is a huge plus. I was also able to bring the entire pump with the the included stylish carrying bag. My sister was amazed that my pump was nicely packed inside. She thought it was my diaper bag.
I really enjoy using this pump I have recommended this to all my expecting mom friends. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this breast pump.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had the pleasure of using many Medela pumps in my three year breastfeeding journey and I think this one is pretty great. I love how lightweight and portable it is, and even if you don't use the included pumping bag, it would fit comfortably in most handbags.
Overall I think it was very efficient at milk removal and yielded the same amount of ounces as similar pumps I have used in the past. I do love the option of the battery pack for pumping on the go, however I wished the battery pack was built in to the actual pump as to minimize things needed to pack.
The pre-programmed settings took me a little bit to get used to. Like most breast pumps, it took me toying around with it a bit to understand where I needed to be on the suction levels. I personally had to use a higher suction and would like to see some kind of light or vibration indicator to let you know if you have maxed out on the settings. Cleaning is a breeze since everything is top rack dishwasher safe. That is a nice feature for any pump!
I think my favorite part of this pump is how lightweight and portable it is. I also liked that the flanges included were the silicone soft flanges. These are so much more comfortable than a typical hard flange. But to be noted, if you have elastic skin, you may end up needing to purchase the hard flanges as well. I found the barrel of the silicone flanges was shorter and after a prolonged pumping session I wasn't getting as good of results.
My biggest con with this pump is that it it is hard to see when your milk is still flowing. The collars that attach to the bottles are an opaque plastic, and so is the part that attaches to the flange. This is only bothersome if you are someone who has to manually massage your breast to fully empty (me!). If this is not something you have to do, it probably won't matter to you, but it is worth mentioning! It is also not very quiet. While I think it is much quieter than the traditional Medela PISA, it is a good deal louder than the Medela Symphony that you rent from the hospital. This would be easy to use at work, but if you are pumping during conference calls, you may need to utilize your mute button.
The convenience of the travel cooler and bag is such a nice plus and they don't look like a typical pumping bag, so it would double as a casual purse as well. All in all, I think this is a great option for someone looking for a closed system, hospital grade pump, without the cost of a hospital grade rental.
I received this pump through the Stellar Product testing panel in exchange for my honest review.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this breast pump. Having used the older version of the pump in style, I was excited when I saw how modern this new one looked. As a working mother of 2 , I am pumping at least 3 times a day at work to keep my supply for my baby. Using this pump I maintained about the same supply (no more or less than with different brands of electric pumps). I do really like the “hands free” option to plug into a battery pack rather than into an outlet, but was hoping for an even more hands free to where I could pump at my desk without chords all over the place. I really appreciate the minimal amount of parts especially when it comes to cleaning and assembly- probably my favorite part about this pump. One thing I did not care for was the placement of the tubing being at the bottom of the equipment. I felt like it was difficult to remove the tubing after a pumping session, especially if your trying to use one hand, which is common for me. It is also difficult to time your pumping session without a timer on the pump. I have to constantly check my phone to see when I’m done. Overall a nice pump that is effective with a modern look

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pump is proof that great things can, and do, come in small packages. I was initially very skeptical about all the bells and whistles Medela promised with this Pump in Style, but WOW did they prove me wrong.
The pre-programmed settings on this sleek system are exactly what I’ve been needing from a pump. The pump begins on a Stimulation Phase, which I found the most effective. It’s taken quite a while with other pumps I’ve used to get my milk flowing, so the Let-down button was my “breast-friend” on this Medela. I had no problem at all getting my milk to express thanks to the Stimulation Phase. I do wish it had a couple notches higher in power for the Expression Phase, but it gets the job done as is.
Every piece included with this pump was designed with real-life, efficiency and convenience in mind, from the bottle stands, minimal and easy-to-clean parts, and tote bags. No more crying over split milk thanks to the super handy and simplistic bottle stands. No more sweating over time-consuming cleaning or frantically searching for missing pieces. The pump only has three, compact parts that don’t take specialized brushes to clean. No more luggage or back aches from hauling bulky equipment. This pump, and all it’s parts, easily fit in my diaper bag.
Finally, it comes down to the little details that set this pump apart for me. The insulated milk storage bag and custom ice pack is a very thoughtful touch. It even has a little clear pocket on the front to put a name tag. The battery pack power option makes pumping on-the-go a breeze. The pump bottles are easily unscrewed and capped to store for later or to screw a bottle nipple on to use right away. The shoulder bag included with this pump is very stylish and inconspicuous while also organizing everything with extra room for some personal items.
I am so thankful I was able to try out this Medela Pump in Style through the Stellar Product Testing Panel! This is definitely the nicest pump I’ve ever used and will recommend it to all my mommy-to-be friends.

Effective and Easy to Use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've tried several pumps on the market, and this one is my favorite. I was a big Medela fan to begin with, having used one of their other pumps with my first child, so I was excited to test drive the new Pump in Style Max Flow when given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
I just had my second child, and I received a new hospital-grade pump through my insurance and purchased a new-to-market wearable breast pump with the idea that I'd have on super portable option and one super effective option. The Pump in Style has both features in one and is my go-to pump of the three!
I love that the Pump in Style is pre-programmed and I can adjust the settings with the push of one button. I'll be honest, I don't have the time or patience to figure out how to get a wearable pump to latch or adjust a breast pump's settings manually - simple is the way to go for me! I never felt any discomfort, and the Pump in Style emptied both breasts in nearly half the time as my other pumps! A bonus considering I'm either working or chasing a toddler - neither of which scenarios allow for a lot of dedicated time to pump.
Speaking of not having a lot of time, the Pump in style has so few parts to wash! I was literally searching around in my soapy water a few times, not realizing I had cleaned all the parts that quickly. And you don't need any special brushes to get into any nooks or crannies, which is fantastic. Definitely my favorite part of this pump.
I have two cons. First, it's noisy. The micro vibrations are supposed to increase your flow - which I believe they do - but they make a lot of noise. The only way I have a chance of pumping discreetly while on conference calls is to set the pump on my carpeted floor and hope it's far away from my computer's microphone. The other con is, while the pump is definitely portable, the battery pack is a little clunky, so it's difficult to hold the pump and battery pack in one hand if you're trying to do something with the other. That said, the pros of this pump far outweigh the cons!
Overall, I definitely recommend this breast pump for all mamas-on-the-go out there!

On the go wherever you go

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first gave this pump a go, it didn’t efficiently empty my breast and I was a bit reluctant to try again. However, I gave it a second try and it did great! It emptied my breasts in the same amount of time as another pump and has a couple less parts to clean afterward (which is a definite plus). The highlights of the pump in style with max flow include: super comfortable contoured breast shields, travel bag with cooler and accessories, easy clean parts, slim (and aesthetic) size, and the external battery pack so you don’t have to be tethered to a wall. An improvement that would be great to see in a future model include a screen so the user can see they level setting of how strong the pump is, and how long the pump has been going. Aside from that, I would recommend this pump to another pumping person.
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for allowing me the opportunity to test this pump from a reputable company!

Compact but lacks power

Overall this pump is great for the price point. There are pros and cons to any pump! As a mom of 6 for each of whom I pumped daily for 1 year, this pump would be used as fall back, not my main pump and here's why:
Things I liked: 1) The new bag design is very attractive and makes it less obvious that it's pumping equipment. I like the colors and fabrics and they seem easy to clean. 2) The pump seems quieter than my previous medela pump in style, which is nice. When pumping at night I don't want to disturb my significant other and when pumping at work I don't want it to be obvious to anyone who passes by what I'm doing for privacy reasons. 3) I also really like the new breast cups - the oblong shape and the ring around the outside keeps it more securely held in place when pumping and it feels more comfortable. The improved shape of the cup also makes it more effective pump and more comfortable to wear. 4) I liked how it was easy to take apart and clean the pump parts quickly and easily with minimal pieces to wash and keep together. It is very compact and easy to clean and pack back up for on the go use. The new gasket and flange design make fewer parts to clean or lose on the go! 5) I like how small the motor is. Easy to carry and lightweight.
Things I didn't like: 1) While I did like the new breast cups for their shape and updated materials, I did NOT like that it only came with small sizes as I have only ever known people who used the next bigger size, especially when using it for baby 2+. 2) I also did not like how short the neck of the breast cup was. I couldn't see my flow to know if it was slowing or finished after pumping for longer than 1 minute. 3) While it seems quieter than previous models, it is still very loud. This pump is still too loud to be my go-to. 4) The suction was not sufficient for me. I pump 50% of the time, so I use my pump multiple times per day and I did not feel that this pump got all the milk out, even when I had it turned up to the highest setting. The highest setting did not feel very powerful to me. 5) I did not like that there was no digital display for me to see the power level or the time I had been pumping for. Those are features I have gotten used to and I would miss them too much to use this pump regularly. At least the power level needs to be obvious for me, even if time is not.
Things I'd change: 1) I'd make more compartments in the bag to hold specific pump parts - like a pocket or divider that holds the pump itself in one spot in the bag, and a compartment for the cord and one for bottles, etc. Right now it all just falls down in the bag and becomes a mess. OR include smaller bags that coordinate to keep parts in, similar to toiletry style bags? 2) Also - there is no pocket that is the right size to hold the manual to keep it handy. All the pockets are too small. 3) Make the neck of the breast shields longer - they are far too short for anyone to be able to pay attention to how much milk they are expressing and when flow has ceased.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to try this pump and it is definitely high quality! Thank you Stellar Product Panel for letting me try this product!

Great pump for on the go moms!

I'm very happy with the new Pump in Style with Max Flow pump! I love the small size of the pump motor unit and how light weight and easy it is to take on the go, and I appreciate that it includes a carrying bag that seems to be great quality. I pump in the car a lot, so I like that this pump includes a battery pack so I don't have to worry about having an adapter to plug it in. I also really like the re-designed flanges with the flexible rubber on the edges. I felt like that combined with the oval shape of the flange really helped me to get a better fit (I found that turning the flange so that the oval was vertical and not horizontal helped me to get the best suction and flow). I haven't found that I'm expressing more milk than usual with this pump (I'm getting the same as usual), but it has become my go to pump nonetheless because of it's portability. I'm very thankful to have received this pump as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. It is small, easy to use, easy to clean and easy to take on the go. Overall I am very pleased with it!
