Great and stylish pump

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice and stylish pump that I enjoy using, the efficiency of the pump is pretty good. I was able to pump the same amount of milk and sometimes even more than my original one, which made me feel relieved as my supply started to drop. But it does have some draw backs as I wish the pump had a screen for time and settings. I am able to find a comfortable setting but than each time I pump I cant figure out if it is the same one as I like to keep it same each time. As well as I have to keep using my phone to track time length as I am exclusive pump mom and need to make sure I stick to a time especially working. It is pretty easy to clean the parts and everything comes apart so thats great i love that its closed system, which is the best feature on the pump!! Especially since sometimes detaching tunes is a little struggle but no milk gets into tubes. It comes with lots of great accessories that help so much when your on the go and need to store your pump and milk like i do! Overall great pump but would love to see some adjustments.

Great, comfortable breast pump!

I was given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I'd been using a pump I'd previously used for my first child (born in 2018) and didn't realize the pumping experience could be so different with a different model. The old one was one I'd received through my insurance, and was absolutely fine, but the Pump in Style with Max Flow has made pumping much more enjoyable and productive for me.
I believe it has helped me express more milk than I did with the old pump - the combination of the vibrations and the "sucking" power has been so effective. It is easy for me to adjust the power of the vacuum and the rubber seal around the cups is so much more comfortable than my old (fully plastic) pump.
It's really pretty easy to clean as well. Taking apart all the components is easy and washing is a breeze - of course, I wish it was just plug and go and all one piece for ultra-convenience, but you just assemble it in 3 steps and you're good to go. It's lightweight, looks good (not important but appreciated), can be used on the go or with an outlet, and has helped me feel prepared for my baby, which is the main thing.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Small, portable and comfortable!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a great, compact pump. It comes with everything you may need to begin your pumping journey. The pump itself is very compact with minimal buttons to confuse you. The flanges are very comfortable with cushions around the rim. It's also very nice that the pump comes with its own bag and ice pack/milk storage bag. I will say, once you have everything in the carrying bag, it is a tight fit to get it zipped up and literally nothing else will fit in it.
Unfortunately, this particular pump did not give me as much output as my previous pump. With the two flange sizes given, I am thinking I may need a different size so I will explore and see if a better fit will improve my output because I did notice that it is not as strong of a suction than my previous pump. Additionally, this pump is quite a bit louder than what I am used to. There is no denying what I am doing in my office now and I'm pretty sure you can hear the pump standing outside my door.
Overall, I liked how the pump contains everything you need for pumping on the go! I like the compact size, how lightweight it is and how comfortable the flanges are. I was happy to be given this to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and would recommend to a friend.

Easy to use and comfortable

I was really excited to try out the new Pump in Style with Max Flow (I took a picture when it arrived and used it within an hour of it arriving on my doorstep). This is the third pump I’ve used, and it’s been my favorite. The graduated suction that mimics baby’s nursing is more comfortable than the full pump and release cycle that other breast pumps have and the silicone breast flanges have been welcomed, too. I didn’t think they would make a big difference, but the experience (twice a day at this point) is much more comfortable than expected.
The “Y” tubing is a great improvement too. There have been times when I have much more milk to be expressed on one breast, and being to switch the suction from the bottle back into the tubing itself is so much easier than working with two tubes and cutting off the suction from the pump for one breast. Thanks, Medela!
I cannot say that this pump helped me to express more milk than my other pumps have. I found that my output was about the same. However, I do have another pump that mimics baby’s suckling, but the suction isn’t as great. I learned that the Max Flow would give me the same results as the other in the 1/2 to 2/3 the time it took with the other pump.
The accessories aren’t too shabby either - I really like the design of the cooler bag and ice pack that fits the shape of the bottles. We packed the bottles up nice and snug in it many times without having to worry about losing any milk because a bottle tipped over. The pump bag isn’t conspicuous as a pump bag and fits everything very nicely. I was able to try the battery pack, too. The convenience to pump in the car was great; however the contacts needed to be modified slightly so a connection to the batteries was fully made.
The only reason this pump doesn’t get a 5 star review from me is the design of the bottle connection to the pump. On my other pumps this connection is clear, so you can see what you’re expressing and how much is going into the bottle. I’ve relied on this to see how much milk I’m really getting out of each breast. This design is opaque and I can sort of tell how much I’m expressing by looking at the droplets into the bottles, but I don’t like it.
Overall, I’d recommend the Pump in Style Max Flow - it’s light, easy to use, small and inconspicuous. Thanks Stellar Product Panel for giving me a chance to check it out - I’m going to keep using it!!

Unassuming Breast Pump

The Pump in Style with Max Flow is very sleek and one would dare to say fashionable breast pump. This isn't my first rodeo with breast pumps and I am shocked at how much power it has with such a slim and sleek design. It easily fits in my bag and isn't obnoxiously loud like competitors. My only reason for not giving it a 5-star review is that the flanges that it comes with were too big and I ended up buying a smaller size. Thanks to the Stellar Product Panel for providing me with this pump to test out!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Amazing pump!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Pump in Style with Max Flow by Medela is a wonderful breast pump. Super easy to use when using the pre programmed option. This option is a wonderful for new breastfeeding moms or pros. It’s like magic the pump knows exactly how much suction needs to happen in order for milk to flow easy and quickly. The suction worked so well the first bottle I pumped was 5oz. Which is a lot on first try for me. The shields are very comfortable to use and very happy they include 2 sizes to see which one is a better fit. The pump is very easy to clean not a lot of parts which is great when you are super busy.
The amount of extras included is fabulous. I was able to store my milk with the included ice pack cooler while my family and I went on a short car trip. I didn’t have to worry about the milk getting spoiled with is a huge plus. I was also able to bring the entire pump with the the included stylish carrying bag. My sister was amazed that my pump was nicely packed inside. She thought it was my diaper bag.
I really enjoy using this pump I have recommended this to all my expecting mom friends. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this breast pump.

Efficient Workhorse

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had the pleasure of using many Medela pumps in my three year breastfeeding journey and I think this one is pretty great. I love how lightweight and portable it is, and even if you don't use the included pumping bag, it would fit comfortably in most handbags.
Overall I think it was very efficient at milk removal and yielded the same amount of ounces as similar pumps I have used in the past. I do love the option of the battery pack for pumping on the go, however I wished the battery pack was built in to the actual pump as to minimize things needed to pack.
The pre-programmed settings took me a little bit to get used to. Like most breast pumps, it took me toying around with it a bit to understand where I needed to be on the suction levels. I personally had to use a higher suction and would like to see some kind of light or vibration indicator to let you know if you have maxed out on the settings. Cleaning is a breeze since everything is top rack dishwasher safe. That is a nice feature for any pump!
I think my favorite part of this pump is how lightweight and portable it is. I also liked that the flanges included were the silicone soft flanges. These are so much more comfortable than a typical hard flange. But to be noted, if you have elastic skin, you may end up needing to purchase the hard flanges as well. I found the barrel of the silicone flanges was shorter and after a prolonged pumping session I wasn't getting as good of results.
My biggest con with this pump is that it it is hard to see when your milk is still flowing. The collars that attach to the bottles are an opaque plastic, and so is the part that attaches to the flange. This is only bothersome if you are someone who has to manually massage your breast to fully empty (me!). If this is not something you have to do, it probably won't matter to you, but it is worth mentioning! It is also not very quiet. While I think it is much quieter than the traditional Medela PISA, it is a good deal louder than the Medela Symphony that you rent from the hospital. This would be easy to use at work, but if you are pumping during conference calls, you may need to utilize your mute button.
The convenience of the travel cooler and bag is such a nice plus and they don't look like a typical pumping bag, so it would double as a casual purse as well. All in all, I think this is a great option for someone looking for a closed system, hospital grade pump, without the cost of a hospital grade rental.

Effective and modern

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this breast pump. Having used the older version of the pump in style, I was excited when I saw how modern this new one looked. As a working mother of 2 , I am pumping at least 3 times a day at work to keep my supply for my baby. Using this pump I maintained about the same supply (no more or less than with different brands of electric pumps). I do really like the “hands free” option to plug into a battery pack rather than into an outlet, but was hoping for an even more hands free to where I could pump at my desk without chords all over the place. I really appreciate the minimal amount of parts especially when it comes to cleaning and assembly- probably my favorite part about this pump. One thing I did not care for was the placement of the tubing being at the bottom of the equipment. I felt like it was difficult to remove the tubing after a pumping session, especially if your trying to use one hand, which is common for me. It is also difficult to time your pumping session without a timer on the pump. I have to constantly check my phone to see when I’m done. Overall a nice pump that is effective with a modern look
