Works Well But Noisy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pumped worked well. I love that it was a closed system. It expressed milk quickly and was comfortable. The accessories were nice; I especially liked that it came with a bag to carry the pump. The small size of the pump was very convient. It came with a wall plug in and a battery pack which was a great added bonus. The only downside was that the pump was quite loud. Overall it is a good option as long as you don't require a silent pump. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this breast pump

Comfortable & Portable

I have been exclusively pumping for 10 months so I have a bit of experience with pumps. There is so much to consider when finding the right pump but I think the most important is comfort. This pump is by far the most comfortable pump I have ever used. At times I would think that this pump’s suction isn’t strong because it didn’t hurt or cause any discomfort, but the Pump in Style with Max Flow has great suction! The various settings helped remove milk with no issues, and the pump itself is super easy to use. The only thing I would change would be an indicator of some sort so I would know what level I was on while pumping. The pump comes with Medela bottles that have a removable base so you can actually set it down with the flanges attached and it won’t tip over! This small detail I wish I had sooner so I wouldn’t have to cry over spilled milk! The bottles & flanges are easy to clean as well. Another huge bonus is the size of this pump, it’s small and compact and I can actually fit it into my purse, (although the pump comes with its own bag and cooler plus ice pack). It is not bulky at all. I am so thankful to Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me my new favorite pump!

A Breakthrough in Pump Technology

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I LOVE the Medela Pump in Style with Max Flow. It is packed full of helpful features and thoughtful details that make me wonder how I ever used a different pump. Absolutely everything a pumping mother will need is included in the set, and it's clear that it was designed with the working mother in mind.
The pump itself comes with a power adapter and a battery pack. The battery pack is a wonderful feature if you're using it on the road, or if you don't have access to a designated pumping room at work with no guaranteed power outlet. The pump is also small and compact and fits perfectly in the included carrying bag.
The set comes with two breast shield sizes and a sizing guide to help you determine which size you need. The shields are also lined with a soft rubber material around the flanges, making them so much more comfortable than the all-plastic ones. The set also includes 4 bottles, not 2, like other sets do. It comes with a cooler pack that can fit all 4 bottles plus a perfectly molded ice pack to nestle the 4 bottles securely in the cooler. Yellow disc-shaped bottle holders are also included, which helps stabilize the bottles while you're disassembling the unit when you're done pumping. No more spilled breast milk!
All of these great accessories fit perfectly in the carrying bag. The bag is roomy and has a flat bottom which helps to stabilize those full bottles for the journey home at the end of the day. This pump set is literally everything a working, pumping mother needs!
Another nice feature of this pump is that it is quieter than other ones I have used. It is also very easy to disassemble for cleaning. It's nice to not have to wrestle with getting tight-fitting valves off of the bottle when you're trying to not spill everything you've just worked so hard to pump! But there is a down side to the easy-to-remove membrane as well. Milk sometimes gets trapped in the grooves of the membranes and it's not so easy to shake it out into the bottle. I had supply issues with my first child and I've always wanted to save every drop that I pump, so I hate to not be able to shake everything I've pumped back into the bottle.
One other small drawback is that the connectors that join the bottle to the breast shields are not transparent and you can't see the milk coming out. It's a small thing, but hard to get used to when you'd like to see the milk that you're pumping!
I received this pump to test through the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and it's been a lifesaver. I've had a few out of town doctor appointments with my older child that have taken me away from my baby for most of the day. To be able to carry this pump with me and not have to worry if I'll be able to find a power outlet in order to pump has taken a lot of pressure off of these trips. And to be able to fit everything conveniently in one bag is great for a busy mom on the go!

A great pump!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this breast pump. There are so many things I love about this pump. First, the small size makes it so much easier to carry around. Plus I love the stylish carry bag it came with! Something else I really appreciated was the fit of the breast shields—they have a soft outer rim that, combined with the shape, make them so much more comfortable. This is a little thing—but I really appreciated the bottle stands the set came with too. They make me feel way less anxious about accidentally spilling milk I just pumped. The pump preset vacuum/speed settings are great and this pump is very efficient—I would typically only pump about 15 minutes at a time and felt like the milk expressed during that time was sufficient. The only thing I wish that the pump had was a timer so I could see how much time had passed/how long I have pumped. Overall, this is a fantastic pump and I’m very grateful to have it!

Very Efficient and Convenient

I am on baby number three and am no stranger to the woes of breast pumps. While I don't imagine any circumstance where pumping is "stylish", I have been very impressed with the quality and style of the "Pump in Style Max Flow". It is incredibly simple to put together and cleaning it is a breeze! I love that I can use the breast pump away from an outlet (hello, pumping during the commute!). I have been amazed how efficient it is, as well. I don't know if the vibrations or the pre-programmed settings make the difference, but I am able to express more milk in a shorter amount of time. It is pretty quiet, as well. All in all, this breast pump is the best I've tried. It comes with a carrying bag and cooler, which is a great bonus! I was given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Compact and well designed but not a game changer

I was given this breast pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I was a "just enougher" and had trouble finding a pump that worked for my first baby and was excited to try a new pump and see if the Medela Pump In Style with Max Flow would empty my breasts more effectively when pumping for my twin babies. In terms of the pump's design, there are some features that I really enjoyed and some things that could be improved upon. The pump itself is small and quiet. Its size makes it extremely easy to transport from room to room or to and from work. It also comes with a battery pack for use in the car, and a cooler bag with an ice pack, features that simplify on-the-go pumping! The backflow protector and valve are one single piece, and I appreciated being able to wash fewer pump parts and not having to hunt around for little missing valves. I also thought the flanges themselves were innovative: rather than being completely hard, they have a bit of cushion around the edge, which makes for a comfy fit. The kit comes with 21mm and 24mm flanges, which I appreciated, as I have had to purchase smaller flanges separately in the past. The flanges are also not perfectly circular, but rather oval, and are meant to be twisted in whichever direction is most comfortable to mama to encourages best milk flow. The part that connects the flange to the bottle is opaque, which I didn't care for, as I like to be able to see how my nipple is moving while pumping. Others might enjoy this feature, because it prevents you from being able to overly-focus on how your body is responding. The letdown setting of the pump automatically transitions to a stronger pull to express more milk after letdowns. You adjust the pump's suction with simple + and - buttons, but it was hard to know which level of suction you were using at any given time. This made it difficult for me to learn and remember my "go-to" settings. I was hoping this might be the pump that would finally make me feel more successful with pumping, but that wasn't the case. While this pump wasn't a game changer for me, it did work as well as other pumps have for my finicky breasts. There was clearly a lot of thoughtfulness put into its design, and it would be a good option for people whose breasts respond well to pumps and who are looking for a portable, strong pump for work or home.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy and Comfortable to Use

I have used other breast pumps prior to testing this. In comparison, I am very happy with the Medela max flow breast pump.
The stand out feature is that it is very compact yet hospital performance grade pump. I particularly admire the efficient and minimalistic design that make it easy to use at work and on the go.
The silicon rim on the flanges makes the pump extremely comfortable to use without bruising or harming my skin in anyway. It extracts milk vey efficiently. The pre-programmed settings are very useful and takes the guesswork out. The clean up was a breeze, given the minimal number of parts and saved me a significant amount of time.
The only downside if any, is that its could have come with a rechargeable battery pack instead of the regular batteries placed in a battery pack.
I would highly recommend this as a great and useful product for moms on the go!

Pump in Style with Max Flow

This sleek Pump in Style with Max Flow breast pump is tiny and mighty. It made pumping a breeze and helped us create a nice milk supply for our freezer with hardly any effort. The settings were easy to navigate and I was able to quickly find a comfortable zone to express. The pump itself is easy to wipe down as needed. The breast shields and connectors are also simple to take apart for cleaning, they snap open and the membrane piece comes right out for easy access to clean everything thoroughly. The breast shield has soft edges that make it very comfortable to use during pumping. I love how surprisingly quiet this pump was during use. The carrier bag is a nice addition to keep everything together and perfect for pumping on the go—it even includes a battery power option and a cooler. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this breast pump.
