New Pump in Style looks small but packs power

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new Medela Pump in Style with Max Flow I received as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel is the smallest and sleekest looking pump I have owned. It packs a lot of power for its size and pulls more milk than I have been getting with other pumps.
Things I love:
It is small and doesn’t take up a lot of space. The design is sleek and attractive.
It comes with a cute carrying case, extra bottles and a cooler bag with an ice pack! I love all the little extras that many pumps don’t come with!
The flanges have a unique shape and are more comfortable than other pumps I have used.
This pump pulls milk quickly and efficiently. I get more milk in a shorter amount of time than with other pumps I have used. The pre programmed settings work great for me!
I love that there is a battery pack so I can pump
on the go and not always be stuck to the wall.

Could use some improvement:
I wish there was a timer on this pump. I like to look down and see how long I have been pumping so I know when to switch sides. I have solved this problem by just setting a timer on my phone, but it would be a nice extra!
I also wish I could look down and see what level I was on— when you turn the pump on it starts back at the lowest setting and you have to adjust back up to a higher setting each time. I wish I could see which level I was at so I could go back to that each time.
It would be nice if the battery was built and you could charge and then take with you (although the battery pack isn’t a deal- breaker).
I think it is a little loud. My husband said he doesn’t really notice it, but I can tell it’s a little noisy- I definitely wouldn’t want to pump in the same room as my sleeping baby!
Overall:
I would recommend this pump 100%!! I just wish it had a small screen that had a timer and showed me the pumping level I was on. For its size, efficiency and sleek look, though, this is a great product and one of the best I have used from Medela!

Efficient and mobile!

I am thoroughly impressed with my ability to be hands-free with this pump and yield a pump output that I could only reach while using manual compression, along with other pump models. I attribute this to the comfortable shape of the flange and vibrating massage capability of the cups. It was absolutely freeing when I received this pump from the Stellar Product Testing Panel to review! I love how I can just push one button to turn it on and it’s built-in timed let down mode lets me focus on doing other tasks while pumping! I also loved The fact that it came with a battery pack made it so easy to take my pump sessions on the go around the house which is essential as a mom of very active kids. My favorite part about this pump, right behind its efficiency at milk expression, is how easy and quick it is to clean and have it ready to go for the next pump session making it perfect for the mom on the go!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Comfortable and convenient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Pump in Style with Max Flow is a combination of comfort, ease and convenience. The pump was very efficient. This was great for use at work. The stimulation setting seemed shorter than the other pumps I have used, but the amount of milk was the same if not more. Pumping with the Pump in Style Max Flow was incredibly comfortable. I assumed all pumps are the same when it comes to comfort, not the case. I often forgot I was pumping while I multitasked with folding laundry or ordering essentials online. The oval shape of the flanges and the soft rim fit well and are very comfortable. The parts were easy to clean and sanitize with our bottles every night. One of my favorite features is the closed system, meaning no accidental milk spills. Also the pump is very quiet! While the pump does have a battery pack for portability, it is cumbersome to carry both the pump and the battery pack around. This is the only reason I did not give 5 stars.

Quiet and compact

After receiving the Medela pump in style max flow from Stellar Product Testing Panel I used the pump after every first morning breastfeeding session and also a 2 am session. I found the micro vibrations helpful, however I do miss the rhythms of the pump in style. I liked the larger membranes on the max flow and the ease of cleaning as well. The max flow connector tops were a little top heavy, especially when tired at night and pumping. The pre programmed setting were convenient and the rubber edge on the nipple shields were comfortable. However, I wish they were longer for extraction of milk. I did however go back to my original pump in style as the max flow does not extract as much milk out as the original.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Compact and sleek, but unimpressive

As part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel I was asked to give my honest feedback on the Pump In Style with Max Flow. Perhaps the most impressive part was the pumps compact and sleek design. I like how I could easily store it in a small bag for trips on the go or tote it easily using the loop on the pump's base for transporting a short distance within my house. With the pump being so small, I also found it to be lightweight as compared to other more bulky alternatives. I liked the comfort of the flanges against me for a tight but less abrasive pumping session and the various accessories included to help a new mom in her breastfeeding journey. Though there were definitely benefits to this pump, I found it to be less than impressive in regard to efficiency of expressing my milk. While pumping, I found the base of the pump to be unstable as it wiggled quite consistently and was incredibly loud. Most importantly, I often found that I still felt rather full following a pumping session, but was unable to extract the remaining milk given this pumps dainty size. I did like the pre-programmed settings on the pump, making finding.a comfortable setting suited for me to be easy to come by. Another disappointment was the complexity of cleaning the parts as there were many. parts all interconnected. To get it cleaned well, I felt like I needed to work hard at it. Overall, I was less than impressed by this pump and much prefer my original pump. Though the size and portability made it a win, the inefficiency ultimately made this product a bust.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Pump it up!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally a pump that works! I have been through quite a few pumps in an effort to find one that works best for me and behold I have finally found one! When I received this breast pump from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, I was hopeful that it would be one for the long haul. This pump has been a life saver for two reasons. One because it isn't bulky like other ones I have tried. It fits perfectly in this bag that almost looks like a small pocketbook/purse. I am able to fit the pump with all its accessories, 2 bottles for milk collection, around 10 storage bags for milk, pens, chapstick, a book, and my portable phone charger with ease! This bag has made me realize how much I carried before and how much stuff I didn't need! And I have to mention how good this pump looks! It's not big and bulky like others and it isn't too loud either! The second reason is because of the amount of milk I am now able to produce. Prior to this pump, on a good day, I was getting 6-7 oz from one breast and maybe 2 oz on my "slow" breast. Now, I am able to get almost 4 oz on my "slow" breast in the SAME amount of time! I didn't change anything in my diet or take any pills which truly shocked me! Admittedly, it took some time to get my flow in terms of which settings work best for me, but once I got that figured out, pumping was a breeze! I was shocked the first time I saw the milk reach past the 100 ml mark and slowly creep up to the 4 oz! This has given me the confidence to continue to exclusively pump as I am now consistent with each pump! I highly recommend this product and hope that all the other pumping mamas are able to see results as well!

Great for on the go

The pump in style with max flow was easy to use and a breeze to take along with me to pump on the go. It comes with a traditional plug as well as a battery pack for times when you have to pump away from an electrical socket. This pump was efficient at expressing milk and I found it to be more effective than the hands free pump I was using previously. The preprogrammed setting made it easy to just start pumping comfortably without having to figure out how to work different settings. The pump was easy to clean and assemble. I liked how the pieces that needed to be cleaned were made of sturdy materials and snapped together with ease. My favorite thing about the pump is the compact size. It is not bulky and does not take up much room. It comes with a travel bag as well as a cooler with ice packs for the pumped milk which made it simple to pack up and go. Another great aspect of this pump is it comes with two different size breast shields so that you can get a good fit without having to purchase additional accessories. One downfall is the pump vibrated on the table or counter while I pumped making it quite loud. Overall I would recommend this pump to someone looking to pump effectively while on the go. Stylish and Reliable

I was given this breast pump to try as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and overall this is a solid pump! Comfortable, efficient and compact. However there are some standard features I feel that is is missing. The first would be a display of some sort that tells you what level your pumping at and how long you’ve been pumping. I could never quite tell if the setting I used during a previous pumping session was remembered automatically for the next pumping session and found myself having to click up and down to find the most comfortable pressure each time. I compare it to the original pump in style I had with my first child that had a knob you twist to determine how strong it was, allowing me to use the same setting each time. Also a display with the time spent pumping would be a nice touch because the components are not see through it’s hard to tell exactly when you’ve stopped. I know as an exclusive pumping mom I need 15-20 minutes to pump on average but unless I set a timer on my phone I would have no way of know how long I’d been connected to the pump, unless I went the full 30 minutes and it automatically shut off. All that to say the automated settings didn’t work for me, breastfeeding and pumping is a very personal experience and I like to have more control over my settings. I also didn’t find that I made any more milk than normal using this pump. I’ve used quite a few varieties over the years and this one was reliable at always getting me the same amount every time. So although it was never my largest quantity pumped, it was really consistent and that’s a huge deal. The pump was relatively easy to clean, except for the inner membrane parts which were a pain to clean whenever I pumped on the go. Lastly, my favorite feature is just how easily I can throw the pump and all the accessories I need in the bag it came with and go out for the day. The bag isn’t big and bulky but has more than enough room and the pump being so small is very convenient. Overall It’s a very stylish pump and all the extras it comes with are amazing quality and it’s just very simple to use and I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to be able to try it. If your looking for a solid reliable pump this is a great option in my opinion.
