Easy set up but not a great product

I bought a two pack of these cameras and it was a waste of money. Cameras will happily be set off by a moving tree but when someone walks up to my front door it won't start recording straight away and would miss if anyone actually did anything at my front door! half the time it doesn't even detect the motion no matter what the settings are. Plus it only records 6-10 seconds and then shuts down for 60 seconds. If anyone does anything outside my house it will miss it. In addition to this, when I go into the viewing section of the app to see the live camera feed sometimes it can take 5 minutes to load up despite the cameras being only 5m away from wifi access point!

Worst Wireless Camera On The Market

If I could rate this 0 stars I would, garage motion detection detects things that are not there ! When it does start recording it’s too late the person or object has already left and once again films nothing ! You can have someone walking down your driveway surprise it won’t even pick that
up. Don’t waste your money !

Pain in the you know

I bought a 3 pack and they have not lived up to what I need them.for they continue to go off-line and solar panel is not suddicient to keep charged so intruders can call in when raining etc

Easy set up but

The cameras were easy enough to set up but after 6 months we started to notice issues. Like cameras being triggered all day and night by nothing and other cameras not triggering at all. No matter how we changed the settings some cameras would just not trigger. Well the last straw was when we came home today to find one of the cameras has caught fire and melted. Thankfully it has not done any damage and even more so that the camera that failed was not inside the house. Good product idea. Terrible fit and finish. If I knew that fire was a possibility with this item I would never had considered it. Just very glad and lucky that there is no damage. We could have lost everything because of this camera.

Swan Xtreem Wireless Security Camera

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to like this camera as it fills a gap that my wired camera cannot fill. The batteries last a long time between charge and make it convenient for remote location installs. The video quality is very good, but this is where the good ends. Even with the camera located right next to the router, there is a 4 second lag between movement and the display on the phone app. When I get a notification of any movement, the app takes forever to load the live feed to be able to see what the motion is. By the time it loads, the movement is no longer there relegating you to have to view the recording. The delay makes the voice communication useless. When viewing the live view, there is a loud noise from the camera. I even put the camera in a quiet room, and could not have the volume on due to the loud noise coming from the camera. Overall, I am very disappointed with the camera. If they can resolve the lagginess and the sound issues, I would love the camera. In its current state, it is only useful for viewing things after the fact.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

These cameras will operate over a wireless internet connection. It is important that your camera be placed in an area where the connection is not likely to be interrupted. Providing a member of our technical support team with your internet upload and download speeds will help troubleshoot and diagnose the issues you are currently experiencing. The camera has 3 different settings for streaming quality; low, medium, and high. If you are having problems streaming you can lower the settings and test to see if it improves. Note that lowering the stream settings does not affect the quality of the recordings. If you have very fast upload speeds you can set your camera to high, but if your upload speed is not that good then we recommend you use medium or low for the streaming setting.

We would recommend testing the audio features on your camera by simulating a real-world situation. Have someone at the camera location and attempt to use the audio features when you are not in the range of the camera microphone. If you have not already, contact a member of our support team.

Do not buy - Pointless security camera

Do not follow the 5 star reviews. Obviously have been paid and do not talk about functionality.
I installed this camera which was easy, but for a security camera it is a complete waste of money. The camera films for 10 seconds regardless if anything is still on the screen and next recording can be up to 3 hours later or more. I spoke with the helpdesk who said the camera shouldnt be operating that way, after rebooting and trying all sorts of settings changes it was escalated to technical support. After going out of my way to be available for this phone call, the technical support officer confirmed straight away that these cameras only record for 10 seconds and they dont know why. Swann will no longer respond to emails which confirms this is a poorly made product. Do not buy.

Based on the information provided, you are correct. Once an event is triggered, the camera will record for up to 60 seconds, depending on motion. In an event that there are still movements, it will record to another file. Swann does offer security solutions that record continuously but they will include DVR or NVR units.
