Does not work

Took the humidifier out of storage for the winter and it no longer works after 1 year of use.

I bought this to replace an older model which had been struck by lightning. I like the new feature of being able to turn off the lighted display at night. I do miss the old flat top, which made it easier to fill. Living in the desert, I need the humidity to sleep at night.
I would recommend this to a friend!

There is no way to fully clean this model. We have to stop using due to this, it’s gross. The cylinder type is much better. And it’s a pain to fill this one, the reservoir can’t stand on their own.

Horrible experiences

Two poor points: 1. We purchased the first one. Shortly returned as right tank didn’t empty after several attempts. Exchanged for second unit. It to proved to fail in the same way. Continued to use a one tank operation as better than nothing. BIG MISTAKE! 2. This type of humidification leaves white dust on all surfaces. Wood especially! Clean- up in every room in ever part of the house. Do you homework first! It will save you a lot of housework

We are sorry to hear this. The humidifier will utilize one tank at a time. It will completely empty one tank then automatically begin to use the second tank. The use of high mineral content hard water may cause a white mineral residue to accumulate on surfaces in the room near the humidifier. The mineral residue is commonly called “white dust.” The higher the mineral content (or, the harder your water is), the greater the potential for white dust. The white dust is not caused by a defect in the humidifier. It is caused only by minerals suspended in the water. The HoMedics Demineralization Cartridge will help reduce the potential for white dust. The cartridge should be replaced every 30–40 fillings. The cartridge may need to be replaced more often if you are using very hard water. Replace the cartridge when you notice an increase in white dust buildup. If white dust still forms around the humidifier after a new cartridge has been installed, consider using distilled water If you live in an area with hard water or use a water softener, we recommend using distilled water for better results from your humidifier. Never use water-softening additives in your humidifier.
This is the nicest humidifier I have purchased to date. It is easy to set up and program. We have 'hard water' and, even though I use distilled water in the unit, I'm grateful that there are demineralization cartridges for each tank. I also love the essential oil tray.
I just received this DE humidifier and so far so good I like it. Very easy to set but very heavy when filled. What are the reasons I purchased this was because of the great customer care that I've seen in the reviews if you have a problem they get right back to you and they want to make it right that's what I chose this. I email them for questions on what I should purchase and lady was very helpful in her replies thanks homedics.

Great size

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this humidifier and it’s the perfect size for a bedroom or any single room in the house. My daughter loves that she can run Essential oils In it. I would recommend this size and brand for anyone looking for one for a single room. I would definitely buy this style and brand again for other rooms in my house.
