I setup the maker according to instructions. When passing through the clear water I pressed the “BOLD” setting. and the 14 Oz. button. Placed a measuring cup and brewed. It first released 8 Oz. and then stopped. After a few seconds it started to flow again. It’s not mentioned in instructions it would do that. The unwary person would pull away the cup and a mess would happen when the machine would start its second cycle. Also it dispenses 16 Oz. of water not 14. That could also create an overflow mess. The grounds wouldn’t hold an entire 2 Oz of water. Since there’s no way to adjust the amount of water dispensed, one has to be sure the travel cup is large enough. The 8 Oz setting dispenses 8 Oz. A 12 Oz. option would be nice for a mug of coffee. I don’t recommend using the “Scoop” to measure out the coffee. If it’s wet then the grounds will stick making a mess. Use the tried and true coffee (1/8) measuring cup.
I bought this as a temporary coffee maker until the kitchen is renovated and there is more counter space for a big one.. but I think I’m going to just keep this one! I love the convenience of the scooper for the coffee grinds and being able to adjust the size of my cups easily, with a 6 month old.. there’s a certain days I need more than one cup! 🫣
