It is normal for the Greenworks 60V 26" hedge trimmer to have a slight delay about a half-second between pulling the trigger and the blades engaging. This is not a malfunction but a characteristic of the brushless motor. For safety, the trimmer uses a two-step starting system: 1. You must hold down the front handle safety switch and pull the rear trigger at the same time to start the blades. 2. Releasing either the trigger or the front handle will stop the blades.
