I bought this about a month ago and used it one time and it worked flawlessly. I got it out again to cut a small tree down. About half way through the chain flew off. I tried putting the chain back on. The adjustment screw was frozen and i could not get it to give me enough slack to get the chain onto the bar. I took tje bar off the adjustment adjustment knob and put the chain onto the bar and manuvered the bar back onto the adjustment knob. The adjustment screw let me tighten the chain but then the chain would not turn even if i loosened it some. i put the battery in and tried it to see if it worked. turned about one turn and the chain froze. It looks as if this is junk! i also purched a lawn mower so I hope it is better quality than this saw but I have my doubts.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe

Hello djca
Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about the experience you have encountered with chain on this unit. Please make sure the chain wheel is secured to the shaft. If the chain wheel is not secured this could be causing issues with the chain staying. If the chain is secured the issue would be the tension procedure. Please contact us directly through chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com that will direct you to a live agent or call Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. Hope this info helps.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The pole saw is working well. The chain saw not so much. The chain jumps off easily. When it does jump up, it is damaging the chain and the guide bar. I believe the metal that is manufactured from may not be of best quality. The pole saw chain jumps off pretty easily as well, but it seems to be made of better metal as the chain isn't getting chewed up.

Hello Firas,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Greenworks 60V Chainsaw. There is a high probability that the chain gets damaged after being thrown out of the guide bar. Please make sure that is possible or replace the chain with a new one that properly fits your guide bar. • If the chain gets thrown as soon as you start the saw, it is very probable that you are not using the correct chain type/size or rim/drive sprocket. • If the chain gets thrown during use, then it probably needs to be clean and adjusted for tension. The more you use a chain the longer it becomes. It is therefore important to adjust the chain regularly to take up the slack. Tension the chain so that it can only just be pulled away from the bar at its centre point. Read the steps and follow below for further instructions. 1. Stop the machine. 2. Loosen the lock nuts with the wrench. 3. Turn the chain adjustment screw clockwise to increase the chain tension. 4. Turn the chain adjustment screw counterclockwise to decrease the chain tension. 5. When the chain is at the wanted tension, tighten the lock nuts. IMPORTANT: If you don't feel confident or want advice in any of these steps, contact Greenworks by Chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com or by phone on Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. We would like the opportunity to speak with you to see if we can help you better.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wanted to give 5 stars but couldn’t because the chain has fallen off the bar 3 times in 3 uses. Not just that but when the chain comes off, it ends up getting nicked up by the metal guide underneath the tool resulting in a chain that won’t glide on bar. I’ve had to repair 2 brand new chains. So now when I go to use the tool, I am always worried that the chain will come off and I cannot finish the job. Not good. Btw, tool has bar oil and tensioned to recommendation.

Hello ppaqit, Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We are sorry to hear about your experience. Chainsaw chains can come off due to multiple reasons such as worn-down bars, worn-down sprockets, and wrongly set chain tension. Please check the chain tension and condition of all parts prior to using. If anything is worn or damaged, replace parts before using again. Replace the bar if: the groove is not fit with the height of the drive links (which must never touch the bottom). The inside of the guide bar is worn and make the chain lean to one side. If you're still experiencing issues, please contact Greenworks. For the fastest support, reach out to us by Chat - our friendly Live Virtual Assistant is available Monday – Friday: 9:30am – 5pm E.T. If you need help from a human, they'll direct you to one during the hours of operation Monday to Friday: 9am – 7pm E.T. Our helpline number is 1-888-90-WORKS (1-888-909-6757).

The only reason I am giving this equipment a 9 is because the pole trimmer was missing the cap for the bar oil reservoir.

Hello GCEC. Thank you for reaching out to us. The oil reservoir has a sponge inside as a filter. Make sure to only use bar and chain oil. Check the cap to make sure the hole inside the cap is clear (if applicable). Try loosening the cap to loosen pressure and turn the oil cap clockwise and press the tab down to close. Run the unit 1-2 minutes before each use. The whole oil tank will last for approximately 20- 40 minutes. Please use only bar and chain oil. Do not use dirty, used or contaminated oil. Damage can occur to the bar or chain. We have shared our chainsaw and operation guide. Videos included are not a substitute for reading the operator manual. For more detailed instructions and safety warnings consult the operator manual provided. https://youtu.be/WJOGDpSPzJM We hope this information has helped. Should you have any questions or warranty needs, contact us through Live Chat on Greenworks Tools website or call 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS). We would like the opportunity to speak with you to see if we can find a solution.
