Gave this to my husband for his birthday...he had been drooling over it. He has the trimmer, loves it and Greenworks has been awesome to work with over any issues. Its everything he was hoping for and a little more. We have other batteries for the trimmer so plenty of backup power here for the chainsaw though one battery lasts about the same time as his back anyhow. Ordered a couple of extra chains as he intends to give it lots of workout time.

Hey friends! I bought this to replace my previous combustion engine chainsaw. I live in the Pacific Northwest and have to do a lot of tree maintenance, so having a solid chainsaw ready to go, particularly in winter, is an absolute must. This unit was absolutely top of my list as I'm already in the battery ecosystem with my riding mower. So far I am quite pleased with the unit, with one small caveat: the chain it comes with is absolute garbage. I had to prune some ornamental pear that had fallen after our first heavy snow, nothing crazy, and this chain made it *maybe* through 5-7 cuts before it was dull. I'll be swapping it out for an Oregon equivalent, and would suggest new purchasers probably should just do that right out of the box if you want any longevity in the sharpness of your tool. Happy cutting!
Pros: Quiet, Powerful

Hello Tony gilchrease,
Thank you for taking the time to review our product. We’re sorry to hear about this event, and we understand it can be frustrating when a machine won't start.
To start the chain saw follow the steps below.
1. Press the lock-out button. 2. Press the trigger while you hold the lock-out button. 3. Release the lock-out button.
IMPORTANT: The chain brake must be disengaged for the chainsaw to start. Activate the brake by moving the front hand guard forwards. Hoping this was maybe a misstep and will be able to correct with these instructions. Should you still be experiencing an issue starting the chainsaw, please allow our team to gather some further details so that we can help find a resolution for you. We kindly request that you contact Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. All we ask is that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather the necessary unit information.

I bought four 60V tools in spring of 2022 to upgrade from the 40V greenworks tools that I have. While this a good tool it was least impressive of the batch when compared with the 40V tools. It has a higher chain speed than the 40V and can cut faster but it seems to have less torque and stalls much more often. It also suffers from the same problem as every other 18" chainsaw that I have used in that it is very prone to throwing the chain. For some reason the industry standard 18" bill seems to be too straight to keep the chain in the groove. Just a little more thickness top to bottom in the middle of the blade would help a lot. Tensioning the chain is easier on the 40V saw and that helps some as well.
While the saw could be better I do like it enough that I bought a second one for my son-in-law.
Pros: Convenient, Quiet

I'm glad I bought the 18-inch saw. I have hardwood logs 18 x 24 inches - This saw cut right through that log, in a big hurry, then ate that log for lunch! I was throwing chips 10 feet! I don't have a log splitter, but by putting a 2 inch deep kerf in the log and dropping in a wedge, splitting is no problem at all. I was experiencing about 15-20 minute run times with continuous usage. A spare battery would be a big plus. also- this IS a two-handed saw with plenty of power.
