Not the best saw.

I've had this saw for about a month. I was happy the first time I used the saw. Cut well and battery lasted a reasonable amount of time. However, the saw appears to not like cold weather or hardwoods. I keep the saw (not battery) in my unheated garage. The next few times I tried to use it the saw the chain just started smoking on the wood. It was cold enough the bar oil wouldn't flow and so the chain wasn't getting any oil, and the chain was freshly sharpened. I had to get out my gas saw and it cut right through the log. I am assuming the saw either doesn't have an oil pump or it is very weak. Pretty disappointed that the saw only seems to work in warm weather.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After adding bar and chain oil, the chainsaw needs to run for a few minutes to expel the air in the lines before oil comes through. Simply run the unit for a few minutes. Allow the oil to come out before use. You can also try loosening the oil cap to release any vacuum that may have built up. Having used an electric chainsaw in the past with mixed results, I was skeptical of those purchase, but this thing is great! Fells trees and bucks logs just like I need it to for the overgrown property I just bought. Love how I can just pick it up and put it down without any hassle like a gas saw would entail.

Anyone whos used a gas saw should have no issues with this one. Compares in weight and just a little longer to allow for the battery. Comfortable and easy to manipulate in a wooded area. Worked well in clearing fallen trees from a forest road. The absence of needing to pull start at each tree was refreshing. Handled both de-limbing and sectioning through both locust and cedar with ease. Battery life wasn't an issue as I was able to make approximately eighty cuts with power left over. Convenience alone will probably see me using this before my gas saw in the future.

I was reluctant to try cordless chainsaw but wow glad I did, so far its cut with ease some decent sized stumps left by the previous house owner.
I only wish the battery lasted a bit longer but for what I'm doing it's sufficient. Nothing 2 batteries won't solve for me.they do charge fast.

Great saw. This is replacing a gas chainsaw that was always a hassle to mix gas and get running. I had a couple other 60V Greenworks tools and have been very happy with them. This saw was not a disappointment.
