First of all I am not a lumberjack, so my rating is based on limited knowledge and skills. I am also 78 years old and hate having to pull a cord to start an engine and don't like having to lift something heavy. So a battery operated saw was my choice. It is lighter and starts immediately. The saw has been ideal for working around the property (5 acres) and the battery lasts long enough to complete most jobs, however when it runs low it forces me to go sit down for a while, which I appreciate. Charging the battery does take a while, not sure if this is normal as this is my only battery operated tool. Adding oil is easy and the semi-clear window makes it easy to check the oil level. I read somewhere that the persons saw leaked oil, this tool does not leak at all (regardless of position when storing, sharping the chain, or rotating the blade).

After having this saw for several weeks and using it for cleaning up a lot of small (<8" diameter) trees, my only regret is not having gotten it sooner. Easy to use with no aggravation mixing fuel, pulling at cords and cleaning spark plugs along with quiet operation. The battery holds more charge than I have the energy to use in one session. It seems that it will be more than capable for a couple of the larger tasks ahead.

Runs good. 4.0 battery will last about 15-20 minutes so you may need extra batteries. Recharging the 4.0 battery takes about 3-4 hours. The chain that comes with the Chainsaw dulls quickly compared to aftermarket chains that I bought so buy extra of those also. Very easy to change the chain and maintain the chainsaw.

I was quite surprised and remain impressed with power and controllability of the Greenworks 60v chainsaw with 18” bar. I need a chainsaw a few times a year in maintaining 10 acres, mostly wooded, after significant wind and rain events as well as routine upkeep. Having a very capable chainsaw that requires next to no maintenance, eliminates having to mix fuel and oil, etc., has been a blessing. When it comes to battery life, only time will tell, but for now, I’m very pleased with the product and the 4 other Greenworks products I now own.
