Super light and thin

happy with installed tv; however, agree with all of the previous reviews about the mounting hardware. we watched tutorials showing the ease of install w/one bracket, but there are two with the 2021 model.
please include a template! the bracket placement diagram is difficult to work out, and our model didnt line up with two studs, so we had to make an extra trip to the hardware atore for heavy duty anchors. diagrams are not easy to follow, and are too small to see accurate location of small parts (wire keepers). with a template and better instructions, we probably could have installed in half the time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Breathtakingly Beautiful

i, like probably all of these reviews, had preordered my 2021 frame tv. i was elated to see this updated mounting design. it will undoubtedly prove to be much more robust. the instructions could have been a bit clearer, however, they did eventually make perfect sense.
the template depicts the height of the tv at two different elevations; the lower position is where the tv will be when complete, while the top elevation depicts where the tv will need to be held during installation to align the tv into the keyholes of the mounting brackets.
the tv is so thin and is held flush to the wall. the cable to the box is very flexible, thin, and clear. measuring just less than 15 feet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Living Masterpiece

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Obviously the picture is perfect - it's Samsung. Which means the physical design is sleek and simple, and the materials are sturdy and inspire confidence. The white remote had me do a double take, as I'm used to black or metal, but it is solid and intuitive, and is easy to spot in a cluttered environment. Setup was so simple I almost missed it. The longest part of the process was keying in my wifi network password.
Built-in apps cover all the bases. I was able to download the couple that I usually use that weren't there, so I could say goodbye to a certain USB dongle device. I'd like to strip a couple of the built-ins from my home screen, but you can rearrange them so it's not a big deal once you use the device.
Sound is amazing, considering I have no idea where it's coming from. No visible speakers or soundbar, but it has excellent audio volume and clarity.
The Frame hangs flush to the wall, and looks like a movie poster. A single wire connects it to the base device, and I'll probably slip that through the wall to complete the look. I prefer the art to be set about as dark as it can get, which matches the brightness of the wall and looks like a poster. When it's brighter it looks like a high-quality backlit movie poster at the theater.
There are art options available via subscription, but I've found the free selections work like a charm in my room. I'm not used to switching out paintings on a regular basis, so that habit is one I'll have to get into. As it is, I've left it on a gorgeous landscape by Edvard Munch, which compliments the decor perfectly.
The art is accessible with the tap of a button on the remote, and is instant. It turns itself off after 2, 3, or 4 hours of idle time, or when there is no light detected in the room - both of those are energy saving settings that make the Frame blend in to its environment and save energy in the process.
The only tricky part of the entire installation process was mounting the drywall anchors. The screws for the included flushmount (and it really is flush) have very flat pan heads, so you really need to use them instead of subbing out other screws, and they're really long, so you need to use the anchors provided, which are substantial and high-quality. Just don't let them spin in the wall before they start to open. There's a trick to it that eventually made the install look really professional.
I love this TV and can't wait to experiment with uploading photos and using different mattes. Thumbs up!

Beautiful, but always broken

absolutely do not buy this tv. it's beautiful. and when it works, it's a thing of beauty. but it rarely works, and samsung keeps pushing out updates to the software that breaks critical funcitonality.
e.g., right now, it can't play a slideshow. which is the whole reason you pay extra for this tv! and support is useless...all they do is tell you to factory reset, then sit with your broken tv for months and hope it gets fixed in the next update (and nothing else gets broken).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for choosing Samsung's Frame TV. I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties with the Art Mode Slide Show feature. Please be sure your firmware is up to date with version 1805.4 which includes various performance and usability updates. You can check this by going to: Settings > Support > Software Update.

If this firmware version is not yet available on your TV, you can download the update on a USB drive and manually update your TV:
1. On Samsung's website (upper right corner), go to: Support > Manuals & Software > Find your TV model.
2. Download the update and extract it to the root of a USB thumb drive. (Do not put it in any folders on the thumb drive.)
3. Connect the USB thumb drive to a USB port on your TV.
4. Navigate to Settings > Support > Software Update, select Update Now, and then select Yes.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated software.

If you are still experiencing issues after performing any necessary firmware updates, please try the following steps:

- Reset your TV's Smart Hub. Navigate to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Reset Smart Hub. Please keep in mind this will be sign out of your Samsung Account and all of your apps, not just the one you're having trouble with. Make sure you have the current login information for all of your accounts before you proceed.
- Refresh your TV using the SmartThings app. From the Devices tab, swipe down to refresh the device list.
- Delete and re-add your TV on the SmartThings app.

I bought this TV thinking I was buying the top-of-the-line, but it turned out it did not have a basic feature. I have tried to get it fixed, and the service has been poor. I do not recommend it.

Interesting timing

i was very happy with my 'frame' tv up until this past fall. that's when my warranty expired and coincidentally so did the performance of my tv. now the tv can't hold a wifi connection and continuously drops bluetooth connections. so, unless i'm playing a movie from a device connected to the tv and listening over the tv speakers it has become one huge disappointment. and because of the design of the remote box there is no wired connection available.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your review of The Frame TV and sharing the connectivity issues you're experiencing. You may want to go through these steps to check your connection:

1) Check the distance between the TV and your modem or access point. The distance should not exceed 50 ft. (15.2 m).

2) Minimize interference by not using or turning off wireless devices. Also, verify that there are no obstacles between the TV and the modem or access point. (Wi-Fi strength can be decreased by appliances, cordless phones, stone walls/fireplaces, etc.)

3) Perform a network test to check if there is a network problem. Press the Home button on your remote. Navigate to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Smart Hub Connection Test

4) Try a cold reboot of your TV by pressing and holding the power button for 5+ seconds until the TV turns off and on again.

5) Please also be sure you have the latest firmware update. You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience. Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

So many different apps!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first tv for my bedroom. I love it because I can watch all my favorite shows on Netflix and YouTube. I also love that I can play my Apple Music while I’m just chilling in my room and studying. It’s so cool how you can display your own pictures from your phone. I can control the pictures viewed on my own Frame of traveling and cute animals through my phone. This is a great tv for everyone!

Fantastic TV that doubles as art

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my son as a monitor for home school. I didn't want to buy just another monitor and have another eye sore around the house. This TV has been fantastic! During the mornings it's a secondary monitor for school, afternoons it's art, and in the evening it's TV time!
