Awesome TV, Some Configuration Challenges

for streaming, we wanted to use the tv with our existing roku device plus apps from the samsung app store. this enables the tv's multi-view feature to simultaneously display two streams from the same streaming service. for example, two football games on different channels on youtube tv. unfortunately, we couldn't find a way to configure the samsung remote to control the roku streaming stick.
unfortunately, the tv doesn't properly recognize our bose lifestyle 535 home theater, even when it's manually configured through samsung's universal remote feature. this prevents the samsung remote control from controlling the bose volume. ultimately the way that we resolved the issue was to abandon the hdmi connection from the bose to the tv and just use the optical audio interface only.

Thank you for choosing Samsung’s QN85A TV and for sharing the issues you are experiencing when connecting your Bose system. Please be sure your firmware is up to date with version 1903.0 which includes input device performance updates. You can check this by going to: Settings > Support > Software Update.
If this firmware version is not yet available on your TV, you can download the update on a USB drive and manually update your TV:
1. On Samsung's website (upper right corner), go to: Support > Manuals & Software > Find your TV model.
2. Download the update and extract it to the root of a USB thumb drive. (Do not put it in any folders on the thumb drive.)
3. Connect the USB thumb drive to a USB port on your TV.
4. Navigate to Settings > Support > Software Update, select Update Now, and then select Yes.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated software.

Great tv lousy remote

the picture is fabulous love the tv. wish there were buttons on the remote to control functions instead of buttons on the tv screen. functions like play, rewind, fast forward, pause, guide, favorites. remote is inconsistent with the set top box. some times i get the functions and other times they don’t. for example, clicked on guide, sometimes it appears other times it doesn’t in which case i have to switch back to the remote that came with the verizon set top box.

A Transcending TV Experience

we are a samsung tv family. the tv’s always are quality made, reliable, and have a hreat picture. this one is the cream of the 4k crop…an amazing tv. we are so glad we decided to spend rhe $$. very sleek. this tv delivers an incredibly razor sharp, lifelike and detailed picture with vivid color. its packed with loads of cool features and the latest connectivity. even a noticeable improvement in sound. any content looks amazing, and the 4k upscaling makes 50 year movies look new. im very impressed with the auto settings, as i had to do very minor adjustments. im watching the masters golf tournament and it’s almost like being there. we would definitely buy this tv again, and highly recommend it.
