Beautiful QLED TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family loves our new QLED 4K Smart TV! Unboxing the television was very easy, though setting it up on the stand it comes on was quite a task. My husband, self, and son tried several times to place one of the screws to the stand and it would not take at all so we ended up leaving that one out. Upon setting the tv up, I was very excited that there were two options, via mobile app or using the remote control. I initially chose the app option as I already had the SmartThings app on my phone. Unfortunately, it was not as smooth of a process as I would've liked. It took multiple attempts before the set up finally went through using the app. Once the TV was set up we immediately starting watching the free Samsung TV. The picture is absolutely beautiful and the sound is powerful! I am still learning of all the various features the TV has to offer but one I couldn't figure out the ROKU app. When I select it, it just opens a screen that scrolls and it shows the ROKU logo. I also would like to see more streaming apps made available on the TV. I love the idea of having a solar-powered remote control as well as being able to charge with a cord. I am excited to also be able to use Alexa with my television and being able to use the app on the phone but would like to see a keyboard option on there so I can enter email/user names and passwords to sign in to different apps on the TV. Overall we are all really enjoying the television and look forward to having it for many years to come!

Samsung is Stepping up their Game

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to start out by saying this TV blew me away, the tv is gorgeous and the colors pop off the screen. The new solar remote is awesome, I never have to worry about battery's again. I can't believe how thin the tv is and how it barely weighs anything compared to old Samsung TV's. This TV has an awesome game mode that makes every game I have played run flawless without any issues. I find the operating system is easy to use and I found a lot of apps are there for every possible streaming options so you always have something to watch. I really like the user interface and its blazing fast switching between apps without delay. The filmmaker mode on this tv is awesome and I love how it makes the film look as they intended it to and it helps to immerse you into the movie you are watching. The Black levels on this tv for me is insane and compares to another type of tv I always looked to and now I don't have to. Samsung really created an amazing tv, one that's brighter than the sun at peak brightness. I would recommend this tv to everyone.

Great picture and features but remote has issues

the picture is fantastic and the overall features are really nice. my problems with the tv has to do with the remote. first of all i hate the small little remote it came with and the fact that it has no numbers keypad. hopefully i can find a different one to use. second, there is a problem with the remote working properly with my bose sound system. i can change the volume up and down but it will not power on or off my bose system. then out of the blue even the volume control stopped working. i had to reset the tv and go thru the initial setup to get it work again. really annoying. i hope it doesn't happen again.

Thank you for purchasing Samsung’s QN85A TV and for your review. We appreciate your feedback regarding the issues you are experiencing with your remote control. You may first want to reset your remote by pressing and holding Return and Enter (the center of the navigation pad) for more than 10 seconds. After performing this reset, you will need to pair the remote to the TV again. To pair, press the Return and Play/Pause buttons simultaneously for at least 5 seconds or until a message appears on your TV indicating that the remote is now connected.

Please also check to see if your remote is charged. You can check remaining battery by going to: Settings > General > Power and Energy Saving > Available Remote Battery.

Check if the remote is sending an IR signal. If it is sending an IR signal, you will see a red colored light coming from the remote control. If the remote still will not work, it may be faulty.

Please ensure Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) is enabled on your TV. With Anynet+, you can control external devices that are connected to your TV with HDMI using your TV remote. To turn on Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC), go to: Settings > General > External Device Manager > Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC).

If your soundbar does not support HDMI-CEC, you will not be able to use Anynet+. If that is the case, you will simply need to enable the Universal Remote feature on your TV’s remote with these set-up steps:

1) Connect an external device to the HDMI port of the TV, and then power on the external device. Your TV will automatically recognize the device when connected through HDMI and will switch the output. If it doesn't automatically detect it, then keep following the steps to set up Universal Remote.

2) Press the Home button on your TV remote to access the Home Screen. Using the directional pad on the remote, navigate to Source. When the selector is placed over Source, the Source menu will appear. Press UP on the directional pad to access Universal Remote.

3) Select Universal Remote on the Source screen. Next, select Start and make sure the device you want to connect is turned on. When your desired device displays, select it. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup and register the device. The instructions may vary, depending on the device type selected.

4) Your TV and the remote will memorize the external device and its connection port (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.) to make controlling everything even easier. Occasionally, the device may not respond after it's registered. To make sure the connection is made, you need to re-register the device.

Beautiful Picture

i love this samsung tv. the picture is beautiful with many options to tweak to your preference. i would have given it a 5 if it weren’t for the size of the remote. it is too small, diffcult to read and does not have a light to read in the dark. i think many people would be better served with a larger, easier to read remote. any suggestions for a larger compatible remote would be welcome. otherwise, congrats on this great tv!

so many reviews out there, some great, some not. so thankful i bought this one and not listen to tev negative! the most beautiful tv i have ever owned! honestly nothing compares. movies, gaming, sports, alll gorgeous! bright room, pefect to combat reflections and brightness is excellent. at night, just as perfect!

this is my first review ever so forgive me if i leave anything out. i want to warn consumers about this product and i have attached 2 pictures to this review. one image is from samsung's site saying that this tv is anti-reflection, the second is a reflection of lights being on in the background. if you have any lights on in the background it will produce a rainbow across the screen. i have tried to reach out to tech support and samsung did send someone out and just told me this is a reflection and nothing can be done even though on their site it says anti-reflection. please be warned. thanks

55" Class QN90A not working with Smartthings

i have been trying to resolve problem with the tv not working with smartthings, the smartthings keeps losing a network connection that is hard wired to the tv. that is just one problem. the only notification that will show on the screen is my ring doorbell. my samsung washer and dryer, refrigerator and dishwasher notifications do not show on the screen at all. i have a older 55" q70 tv that works perfectly with smartthings, but it uses a downloaded app for smartthings not embedded in the tv software. if i'm not mistaken this all started with the latest software upgrade. i have called your support and smartthing numerous times and all i get is the run around. why can't you fix the problem?

The best TV for rest of the Family

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My spouse recieved this TV , I was not sure what to think. I am the person in the house that just watches TV and usually does not care about the features or picture quality. Does it turn on and off, can I hear the sound. I am good.
But after I saw this massive TV on the wall and I was shown what true 4K content in HDR looks like. I was blown away. The more I watched the more I noticed the fine details of the picture that I never would have noticed before. Simply put, the picture quality was amazing and I never knew a TV picture can look so life like.
Once the TV got configured and all the apps added, I was able to watch all my favorite shows and movies and seemlessly moving from one app to another. Using Samsung TV plus, I have found lots of interesting things to watch, and all for free.
I am trilled everthing can be controlled from the 1 Samsung remote. Nothing I hated more was all the remotes we had and needed for each device. Now I can use the one remote and it automatically charges from the light. Never need to worry about dead batteris again.
Final Thoughts:
I never thought I would feel a certain way about a TV, but I do love what is hung on my wall. The picture is beautiful and putting digital pictures on the screen is amazing. We have had many family movie nights since putting up the TV, and I love spending time with the family, eating popcorn, and watching a movie with an amazing picture together.
