My wife loves the burners

Better than a glass top

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Stove top is easier to keep clean than a glass top style stove. All the controls are easy to use. Knobs are on the front, no reaching over the hot burners. Oven is large. Self cleaning oven is a nice feature

Review of Whirlpool Coil Range

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this range because of the coil top features. I had purchased a different brand with a glass top from another mfg. I DID NOT like it from almost day one. Started a fire on two occasions which burned into the glass. Hard to clean, had to clean after every use or it looked awful. The location of the cook nobs at the front caused the fires. You accidently just bump and it turned on the burner. UGH!
The Whirlpool was exactly what I wanted, even though some thought it was the newest type fashion. Sorry , I love it. It is easier to clean and safer!

Good stove/oven

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We enjoy this stove/oven except one of the large coil burners had to be replaced, after about 18 mo moderate use - intermittently cut on/off when boiling water for pasta. Took forever. We initially swapped it with the one in the back that did the job fine so we ended up calling Whirlpool and they sent us a replacement coil. All is good now. The metal used on the center disk of the burner is poor quality and turns a burnt color with little use. Makes the stove look old. Not sure why they did that.
The controls are now up front which is the right place to have them.
The top black surface is shiny and collects water spots even with constant cleaning. The top surface should have been painted a matte finish so that water marks would be less visible. Not sure what the reasoning was behind this shiny surface. Bad idea.
There is a digital readout that says, Countertop is Hot but does not tell you which burner was used or is "hot". It would have been really simple to put a small light next to each burner (and controller) to identify which burner is in use. There is a tiny painted-on graphic of which burner corresponds to which controller. Again, this is not very helpful once the burner is turned off and the stove top is hot. Lazy designers? We've been designing stoves for how many decades now and little has changed since the first electric stoves were made. You'd think that by now indicator lights would be common but not yet - this would add little to the cost too. Come on folks, design a functional alert system and show that you put some thought into this. Otherwise, the stove functions as expected.
