Solid, Easy to Use Tax Program

I have been using TurboTax for 20+ years. It is an easy-to-use, comprehensive tax program that handles all my tax requirements ranging from the more common such as rental income, capital gains, and charitable deductions to the less common such as foreign tax credits or energy improvements. By being part of the Intuit eco system any year-to year transfer of information or carryovers is seamless. Having access to their support interest groups is also a plus. My only complaint is when one purchases TurboTax Deluxe or higher, it includes the state tax software but not a free electronic state filing. That is separately priced and costs roughly 2/3 of price of the TurboTax software.

please alphabetize my list of charitable contributions in turbotax. It will save me lots of time and frustration. Otherwise it's easy to use and I like it.

I have been a Turbotax user for many years and this year I continue to have a problem. I corrected the error/rejection multiple times, to no avail. Even having the hard copy in my hands from 2020 taxes returns. How do I get a refund for you all not being able to file my state return?

Turbo Tax Makes Filing Easy

Year after year I use Turbo Tax. This always makes filing my taxes easy. There seem to be nuances lately where the software questions are becoming a bit more ambiguous. Not sure if this is because tax laws are getting more complicated or just bad wording.

I've used this for 20+ years. Never had more problems. Had to paper file for 3 people because TurboTax had one ridicules problem or another. I'm done!!!!!

Solution, Can’t save to Mac (desktop version)

TT Problem, can’t save to Mac, solution:
Our family has successfully used this solution on several returns. You only have to do it once for the year you use TurboTax.
Make sure your TurboTax program is open and active.
Click on the Apple icon (upper left corner of Mac screen).
Click System Preferences.
Click Security and Privacy.
Click on the Privacy tab in the upper part of the window.
Click the yellow lock icon, lower left corner.
Enter your password and click Unlock. The icon will change to an open lock icon.
In the left panel, scroll to Full Disk Access and click on it.
In the right panel, scroll and look for TurboTax (year xxxx) and CHECK it. If TurboTax is not in the list, click the plus sign + that is just below the list. Navigate to the TT program, click it and click Open.
Click “Quit and Reopen”. This should grant you full access to save your TurboTax return wherever you prefer (such as on a thumb drive).
Note: This apparently disabled the “AutoSave” function in TT. Perhaps someone else can send us that solution.

Great tool to speed up the tax process. the ability to download tax info from lending institutions is a BIG-time saver.
