Overall, TurboTax makes tax filing easy

I have a straightforward income/tax situation and TurboTax makes tax filing easy. But i wish 1) Turbotax would automatically categorize W2 NY PFL and not having to research every year 2) consistency - Dealing with NYS tax overpayment at the end of state prep (just like Federal overpayment at the end of Federal prep), instead in the midst of filing steps.

E-file Reject Instructions Not Clear

Have the CD. Instructions say to open Turbo Tax and click on Fix My Return but there is no fix my return button anywhere. Ridiculous!

Turbo Tax is great!

As usual, Turbo Tax was easy to use. I had only one problem centered on a change in treatment about non-employee compensation. I am an "independent contractor" for a travel agency for which I pay an annual fee to secure my travel agent credentials. The way Turbo Tax's GUI interfaces with the user to construct Schedule C could be made more smooth. Am I the business? What address is it asking for, mine or the agency's. It didn't give me an opportunity to edit the income I entered initially--and it initially double-counted the income number I entered.

The Montana state NOL (net operating loss) form will not be available on Turbotax until April 28, 2022. This means that you cannot E-file or print your Montana state return on time using Turbotax. Your only option to file on time (April 18th) is to complete the Montana return by some other method.
