I depend on TurboTax

With the exception of three years when I paid for Professional Preparation of my taxes, I've used TurboTax. However long it's been available is probably how long I've used it. It's user-friendly and very dependable.

Turbo Tax Not Taxing

Easy to understand. Asks lots of questions that you may not think of when doing your taxes. Auto fills almost all the tax forms lines. Like having your own personal tax preparer.

Every single year, I complete our taxes, and when running the check, TurboTax finds something completely random that I cannot answer because I have insufficient information. Foreign tax credit calculation methodology? I had no idea I had foreign tax credits. It's a different topic but equally maddening every year

Sneaky with fees

$20 to file my state became $25 at checkout. Frustrating. Not the easiest software to use for itemizing. Not terribly impressed. May look for something else next year.

App was really flakey this year.
