Turbotax is very dependable

The tool is well thought out and comprehensive. It's expensive if you have stock transactions and state taxes but for a few dollars more it's worth my piece of mind.

Generally works well. It won't help you find deductions you didn't already know about and it focuses on your refund in a very juvenile way as you proceed through your many forms. It was in a little over its head when entering data from a K-1 form but that's a pretty advanced feature to I don't fault it too much

Love Turbo Tax but Somewhat Annoyed

I have used Turbo Tax for over 25years. I have been exceptionally happy until this year. The problem I had was when typing n W-2G's It's 11 seconds between each line. It keeps saying "not responding" then it goes away, and you can type the next line, wait 11 secs. after the "not responding" then type the next line. It took me two days to complete my W-2G's.
I really wish you would figure out a way to auto-fill the W-2G forms after you type the same ones over and over again. It's really time consuming to keep typing the same info over when you could just fill in the fields that change, i.e., date won, amount, type of wager,etc.

Asking for Automatic Conversion of Married Returns

I would like to see an automatic calculation for Married Filing Separate Returns based on Married Filing Combined Return, that can be initiated by just pressing an option button. This will require all entries to be name-tacked, which is not currently done by the Turbo Tax Software.
I also found that while trying Married Filing Separate Returns and asking for Standard Deduction for both Federal and State Returns, the software forced the Maryland State Return for one of spouses to Itemized Deduction because that was better. The software should have clarified that the two spouses using different ways of deduction and different from the Federal Returns is acceptable (if that is so), and then giving the user the choice.
Moreover, while maneuvering the Separate Returns, I found the spouse's return quite troublesome to handle, even after separating all downloaded files.
I would really like to see an automatic changeover from combined to separate returns.
