First time using app rather than website

My first time using the downloadable version of the TurboTax application, rather than the web portal. My general impression is that the web portal is much more polished. The reason for my 1 star review though, is the fact it happily told me I had to pay $3k in taxes. I filled out a mock 1080 by hand to make sure this wasn't true and then had to dig around a little. Turns out that although it showed the child tax credit filled in, because I hadn't clicked to access that section, it just wasn't applying it? Ended up owing $300, but that was not fun for a while.

Couldn't file an E Return as Turbo Tax couldn't fi

Actually did it today (filed electronically) as my brother told me that you could put in zero (0) in the adjusted gross Income per IRS as TurboTax couldn't figure out by 2020 return because I didn't take my required RMD in 2020 and 3 people at Turbo TAX couldn't figure out why I couldn't file electronically so I mailed it in and still haven't received my 2020 refund ($52). I just filed electronically now . It would have bee nice if TurboTax knew about the Zero and notified me. I'm retired and most of my Income is from RMDs, FICA, and a Pension.

Taxes are always extremely difficult to wrap my brain around. Turbo tax walks me through everything and makes it easy.
