2021 Turbo Tax

Every year there is at least one issue for me. This year it was trying to figure out how to install using the on-line access code. I ended up doing everything in the on-line version just to find out it wasn't compatible with the installed version and had to input everything again. Also, the on-line version doesn't give you anything to print out so I had to start from scratch. Very frustrating.

Turbo Tax turning into sluggish tax

Used to be great! I've used TT and it's predecessor since 1994. Now, instead of guiding me, all it wants to do is upgrade...get more money. It pulls up a form and asks the same questions as the IRS form. It used to actually guide me--and some of that code is still there. You need to have "Estimated" and "add supporting details" to EVERY blank. Again, the old code has it, the new stuff does not. Be the best, not the cheapest!

Walks you through all issues. Keeps an ongoing status (amount of refund or amount owed). However, this is a problem. Depreciation from prior year gets carried into current year. Income amounts of course do not. Thus refund amount is overstated and amount owed is understated till you enter income amounts. Think Schedules C, E and F.

I have being using Turbo Tax for many years and personally I never had any problem. Prepared Taxes for my kids and a friend.

Missed a vital questions this year, if my daughter gets claimed. Usually i feel its one of those questions that it asks, and verifies. This year didnt feel like it did.
