Almost perfect

I have been using TurboTax for at least a decade, and I have always found it to be user friendly and intuitive. But there are a couple of things that absolutely drive me nuts. First off I use the computer software version instead of the online version. I would prefer to use the online version for convenience (instead of downloading and installing software), but the pricing differences are just too crazy. I do the taxes for me and my wife, and my mother and I use the deluxe version. but to use the online version would cost way more, not that they make it easy to figure that out. It practically takes a spreadsheet and an hour or two to figure out the actual price differences between all the different fees. It really borders on dishonest business practices. You really should be able to bundle everything you need, federal, state, filing fees, number of returns, into a single purchase and be done with it. These "extra charges" they spring on you half way through the process to do your state taxes, or to e-file are just stupid and annoying. Then the second annoyance is the e-filing process itself. Everywhere else in the program it transfers your information over from a previous year file, but during the e-filing process I have to manually enter my bank account information again, even though nothing has changed. And you have to do that not once, but twice! I get that it is an important thing and people need to double check it, but they should trust that people are really going to be very careful when it comes to where their money is going. The other data entry annoyance is having to enter our driver license information manually every time. Again, nothing changed which should be obvious because the program knows what the expiration date of the documents are, but you have to do it manually every time. Overall minor annoyances in a great product, but enough of an annoyance to make me write this review I guess! :)

Using the "question and answer" method to complete each and every section ensures that I don't miss anything. It is easy to go back and review or edit any section you might need to. I feel confident that the return is accurate and I'm getting the maximum refund I deserve.
