Good, but not as good as last year.

Your "Smart Check" function kept redirecting me to enter information that was not relevant to my return, i.e. schedule 2218. I found out from your website this was the chid tax credit. We are both retired and have no dependents living at home. TT wouldn't let me e-file until I went to that section and entered all negative responses.

He was professional, knowledgeable, and above all patient while helping to identify and iron out the glitch I was experiencing at the very end of the tax filing process. Please thank who ever hired him and what ever you pay him, it is not enough! Terrific ambassador for your product. I will use your product, Turbo Tax, again next year thanks to Courtney.

Turbo Tax's format of walking a person through all the tax lines is great, because I cannot think of everything. It is great peace of mind to know that everything is checked and double checked for us.

Better than filling out PDFs

This is way better than doing the whole thing manually, but that is a very low bar. Overall the software was pretty buggy, and the Arizona state return wouldn't let us pay a charity instead of the state. This is a pretty bad feature. I'd much rather donate to a suitable charity. There did seem to be a step to do so, but when I put in the donation amount, it ADDED to my state return - it did not take anything away.
The software also feels dated when it comes to fuzzy graphical scaling. Furthermore, it kept saying we didn't complete the child tax credit form even though we don't have kids and never said we did... Leaves a lot of questions. How can I be confident that everything that was supposed to be done is?
Also the inclusion of completely fake progress bars throughout the user interface does not help anything. Really makes the product feel unpolished. Don't make me watch an animation, just show me what you need to show me!
Next year I'll be exploring other options. This is my first time filing, so maybe Turbotax is the best. I find that hard to believe though.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I moved, I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax has Tested my Patience

Every year turbo tax gives me issues on my computer with saving a return. It is very annoying and there should be some way turbo tax can write their program so that it does not give this much trouble.

We both retired this year and a lot of different forms to include. TurboTax walked me through all of the 1099-R's for rollovers and for income, SSA-1099's, W2's, and the additional forms. Holy Moly. Next year should be a little less complicated.
