2021 Nightmare

I have used Turbo Tax for years with no issues. This year when I ran the review it came back with 9 errors. I'm not sure if the problem was with Turbo Tax or changes in the tax laws (or user error). It was in relationship to capital gains distribution (which we didn't have) and Disaster Relief (which we didn't take). After searching and seeing others had had the same issues, I combed back through the forms and found where I didn't check a couple necessary boxes. Would have been helpful if instead of allowing me to continue, I had gotten a red flag right then.

A surprise charge and a quirky thing

We expected to be charged for e-filing a state return ($25) but we did not learn that we would be charged a $40 processing fee until way late in the process. There is also a quirky way that TurboTax processes 1099 MISC forms for farm income. You enter the 1099 MISC for the current year but it doesn't not show up in the current year income summary. The 1099 MISC for the previous year shows up (for comparison) but not the current year. Seeing $xxx in the previous year summary column and $0 in the current year is unsettling. But the income doesn't get reported as income somewhere else in the software.

Every year the production gets worse

I had issues installing and updating the product. It had forms I did not need & was difficult to find out how to remove them. Costs way too much. Have used it for over 20 years. Will find another product for next year.

Everything was great with regard to the taxes. However, again this year I am able to advance items on pages easily. I am on Safari for MAC!

I buy TurboTax Deluxe (CD version) every year to do my taxes. It's so easy to follow the guidance of the program to upload my previous year's tax information and update for the current year. TurboTax asks me all the questions to guide me through effortlessly filling out the needed forms, prompting me for information needed to support each item. When it's time to submit/transmit my taxes, I'm confident that TurboTax has been thorough and accurate.
