Used TurboTax For Many Years

TurboTax has been my go to tax filing application for many years. The walk through option allows one to see what tax condition may impact each individual. Being able to down load financial institution data makes fling possible without an accountant. It is an excellent way to work your way through filing your tax return.

Need to improve repetitive screens

2021's Turbo Tax did not easily handle the charitable deduction. It also continues to ask repetitive questions (leaving prior responses blank) for screens like "Did you take a disaster credit?". It should store those responses and non re-ask. Also - State e-filing costs are too high for such a simple action.

Over 2 decades of accurate filing

I was IRS Agent for 41 years, have used TT for over half that time. Easy to use, very accurate, verified filing. As an agent, my return had to be accurate so TT gave me peace of mind that the tax law and math were accurate. The ability to import W-2 and 1099 information even further enhanced the accuracy.

Frustrating for the state of Tennessee

TurboTax is great for filing Federal return. This year it was AWFUL when I got to where I wanted to file my state return for Tennessee. Instead of telling me that I didn't have to file a state return, it got in a loop where I continued to download the software but got nowhere else. I've filed a Tennessee state return in the past. I do have dividend income this year also and thought I'd need to file a state return but TurboTax wouldn't even let me go through the state process to determine if filing a Tennessee state return was needed.
