Good but special situations can be a problem

Married filing separately (living in different states right now). Have to file form 8958 because spouse lives in a community property state. I have to use the downloaded version of TT and I have to fill out the 8958 separately then print and mail the returns for federal and two states. It would be nice if the software could incorporate the form 8958 so I can efile.

Thie is thorough and makes you do it right. But after each section and subsection, it retruned to the home screen where I had to press the task bar view, and press again the work screen. This was annoying and disrupted the flow of the experience.. All the cute stuff in the beginning, loading the software and waiting, and then having to put in the serial number again that I used to load was a bit disheatening, and turned what could have been a two hour task into a five hour job.

I have used TurboTax since it has been available. I have done my taxes with moves, 401K withdrawals and Sale of my home. TurboTax walks me through the whole process. The only thing I do not like is how the fees for filing have increased from $9.95 to $25.00.

Walked me right through it. No problem. Had to file a amended tax form because I received a tax form from my work with errors on it. But make it easy to refile the amended forms.
